9 Tips For A Rainy Wedding

Most brides dread the idea of rain on their wedding day, but we guarantee a little rain is nothing to worry about and can make your wedding even more phenomenal. If you don't believe us, or if you're expecting rain on your big day, we've compiled 9 tips for how to make the best of the weather on your big day! We think you'll agree that rain doesn't stop beauty or love from shining all day long. The perfect example is this night shot in the rain. PHENOMENAL.

Tip #1. If rain is a possibility on your wedding day and you're planning for an outdoor wedding, make sure you have a back up plan! The most obvious solution is to move indoors. If you're concerned about losing the natural light by switching to indoors, hunt around for a venue with lots of windows. We think this gorgeous setup is proof that indoor weddings can be equally stunning as their outdoor counterparts.

Tip #2. If you've got your heart set on an outdoor wedding but don't want to soak your guests when it decides to rain why not use a clear tent? That way you still get as much natural light as the weather permits and some other bonuses! For example, with a tent you get the opportunity to have lots of hanging decor like these breathtaking hanging florals and chandeliers that are to die for!

Tip #3. Rain can make for some phenomenal wedding pictures! However, if you think rain on your big day is likely, you'll want to check with your photographer on whether they're comfortable shooting in the rain. Chances are, if you live in a consistently rainy area they'll be experienced and OK with it, but it never hurts to ask, each photographer is different!

Tip #4. If it rains on your wedding, you'll want to gear up appropriately! Rain can make any terrain difficult to navigate in heels; we definitely suggest having some super cute rain boots on hand! This way your fancy shoes won't get ruined outdoors and you can frolic in the rain as much as you want!

Tip #5. We all know what happens to our hair when the rain comes out to play. If your day is humid or rainy the perfect alternative to long flowing waves or curls is to do some sort of updo or braid which will help keep your hair tamed and looking gorgeous from beginning to end. Tip #6. If you've been dreaming of bright sunshine-filled wedding pictures since you were little, then rain on your big day might get you down. Luckily we have a pretty good idea for how to fix that! Find a day with perfect weather close to your wedding and do a "pre-wedding first look" before the big day or a "post-wedding shoot" after your big day. That way you still get the photos you dreamt of with the person you love.

Tip #7. Let's say it drizzles a bit during the morning of your big day while everything is in the process of being set up but stops before your actual event begins. It would be a good idea to have some towels on hand to wipe down surfaces (particularly chairs!) so that you and your guests won't have to deal with any wet surprises!

Tip #8. Umbrellas!! They will be your best friend throughout a rainy wedding and they can double as adorable photo props in some of your wedding photos.

Tip #9. This last tip is the most important one of all, rain or shine. Smile and enjoy your day!! Often times rain is considered good luck, but what it really comes down to is that, regardless of weather, you are marrying the love of your life. Things will go wrong, plans will change, unexpected situations will arise, but how you choose to react to all of those things will set the tone for your day. Be the sunshine for your rainy wedding.
