Read on to hear Anna and Matt's love story as told by Texas wedding photographer, Joslyn Holtfort Photography and take in all the charming details of this modern garden wedding held at The Greenhouse at Driftwood.
Anna and Matt met through friends-of-friends playing pick up soccer and volleyball together. One particular day, Matt brought his dog, Bentley, to a volleyball game and thatʼs when Anna really first noticed him. After hanging out together several nights in a row as a part of a bigger group, Anna had to go to Dallas for 3 weeks for work. One weekend during that work trip, Matt decided to make the almost 6 hour drive all the way to Dallas to take Anna on a real date. At first, Anna was a little surprised and questioned him about making such a long drive.... but they (and their dogs) have been inseparable ever since.
Matt (and Bentley) asked Anna (and her dog, Goldie Girl) to marry them earlier this year and they set their sights on an outdoor November wedding in the Texas Hill country where they would be surrounded by Texas Liveoak trees and native Cacti. Anna got to work on creating the perfect color palette, starting with their amazing invitation suite, that incorporated their favorite venue perfectly.
Anna and Matt's beautiful and joyful wedding took place at the amazing Greenhouse at Driftwood just outside of Austin, Texas in early November 2019. The day started out gray and cold and wet, leaving us all wondering if we would be forced to abandon their plans to marry under the stately oak tree that sits just beside the greenhouse on the venue property. Just as the time to make the call rolled around, the clouds literally disappeared and gave way to a crisp and clear November day - perfect for an outdoor wedding!
Everything was set with Annaʼs signature colors of blue and orangey—pink - including the reception under the amazing Sperry tent! Anna and Matt were joined at the altar by a large wedding party - 10 bridesmaids and 10 groomsmen - just as the sun was setting on the Texas Hill Country, giving the most amazing light. Their heartfelt ceremony was followed by cocktail hour and then dinner and dancing to the amazing Matchmaker Band at the reception.
At the end of the night, Anna and Matt were surrounded by their friends and family, who lit the way with sparklers and congratulatory cheers as they hopped into an amazing classic Ford Bronco (in the PERFECT color of orange) that was loaned to the couple as a wedding gift by complete strangers! (The bride and groom had seen it in a parking lot and left a heartfelt note on it with their contact information, assuming they would never hear back. But they did! The owners had it shined up and ready for their wedding weekend.)
