Everything about Hawaii is enticing. The warm weather, the breathtaking beaches, and the Hawaiian hospitality. No wonder so many travel to Hawaii for their destination wedding. Even if you live thousands of miles away from paradise, which most of us do, planning a Hawaiian destination wedding is a lot easier than you think.
The first step in planning your Hawaii wedding is to contact a local wedding planner to organize all the details from venue scouting to finding wedding vendors. Our next wedding was planned by Aegir Weddings, owned and ran by Syliva, a destination wedding planner, living in Honolulu, Hawaii. She orchestrated a classically beautiful wedding for Jannie and Yu. Their romantic beachfront wedding was held at the Olowalu House. This breathtaking venue allows couples to get married as close to the ocean as possible without getting sandy.
You can see more of this Maui venue in the gallery here. All photographed by Studio Agf and Leeson L photography.

Jannie and Yu met at a classical music concert and wanted to incorporate the music theme lightly into their wedding. Sylvia had piano scores printed on the back of their wedding programs to tie in the music theme.
Jannie wore the Octavia wedding dress by Vera Wang. This strapless sweetheart ball gown with gathered tulle bodice and rushed tulle technique overlay is such a dreamy dress. If you google the gown many of the pre-owned wedding sites are currently selling the dress.
If you are reading this article, you may be considering having your wedding in Hawaii. We strongly recommend that you read our guest article by Morea Somaoan on the importance of hiring local Hawaiian vendors.
After their loved-filled ceremony, their guests dined under a string lit chandelier with the ocean's sound crashing on the shoreline behind them. Elegant and unforgettable.
As far as aesthetics, Jannie and Yu wanted a clean and elegant look with a neutral color palette. Shades of cream were paired with gold cutely. Dellables Floral Design streamlined the look by pairing Papas Grasses with dry white silver dollars to create the ceremony and reception florals.
We're obsessed with Janie's Mermaid glitter reception dress. You can shop her exact dress on Etsy here. How much do you love it?
The bride and groom were so kind to share their wedding budget with us, but please note that prices change as time goes by, and this is to give you a rough estimate of what a wedding like this may cost you.
