She isn’t just making room in her repertoire to stay modern
When we first introduced Truvelle to our Wedding Chicks audience, we were thrilled by its origin story and how much of a tastemaking contemporary couturier its founder, Gaby Bayona, is. She spent her entire childhood in her mother’s custom dress shop, and as she got older, she started understanding what modern brides were really after with their wedding fashion: something unexpected, understated, but striking in its simplicity. Not being able to find much out there didn’t sit well with Gaby, and so, what started with a girl, a sewing machine, and a studio apartment has matured into an au courant dress movement stirred by design, fit, and quality. It’s a fresh, minimal aesthetic for the brides that appreciate it.
More importantly, the genesis of Truvelle saw Gaby not only breaking, but reimagining “the mold” for modern brides. Her new collection doesn’t explore extended sizing and curve-conscious craftsmanship just for the sake of joining the conversation or “entering the chat” on body inclusivity. Instead, it’s a testament to just how invested Gaby and the rest of the Truvelle team are in championing a brand where every bride feels representation. The gowns aren’t just replicated or stretched out to ‘accommodate’ larger figures; they’re carefully adjusted to provide greater support for and comfort to brides wearing sizes beyond 16.

Calista
The Calista dress is a Truvelle soon-to-be icon finished in a floral fil coupé jacquard fabric.
