Pronovias 2020 Cruise Collection

It’s not very often that we get to see newness from bridal brands all that many times a year. Usually the pretty comes but two times (if we're lucky) - during April and October bridal markets. But today, Pronovias treated us to a new collection launch, and we’re soooo happy we didn’t have to wait another month+ to learn all about their latest love (well, we should say love(s), because the Atelier (couture) Collection got its own Dancing Lights iteration, too). We can’t wait for you to get in on it, as well. There’s actually a trunk show for the Cruise Collection - featuring both Pronovias Barcelona and Atelier Pronovias Barcelona - in New York City, starting tomorrow March 7th through the 17th. So, if you’re as obsessed as we are by the end of this post, make sure you pencil in a trip to the Pronovias Flagship some time in the next 10 days.

We’ve been Pronovias diehards forever, and pride ourselves on being able to distinguish a Pronovias design any and everywhere. The sophistication, the sexiness, the femininity and fierce attention to fit and fabric. That being said, the Cruise Collection looks like it’s setting sail to be something entirely fresh and unexpected, all while staying true to the design house’s commitment to craftsmanship, innovation through fabrics, shapes and trend-setting design details.

Both collections are stirred by stars, but done so in different ways. For the Pronovias Barcelona Cruise Collection, the gowns are influenced by the beauty and magnetism of magical stars at night. The collection sparkles more than ever before, with a new lightness that allows all brides to dance gracefully throughout the night. You’ll see a wide spectrum of styles, from highly-innovative, fashion-led designs to glamorous, princess ballgowns and form-fitting mermaid silhouettes (what would a cruise collection be without a few mermaids… arewerite?!?!!) with varying levels of sparkle and luminescence.

For the Atelier Pronovias Barcelona Cruise Collection, the gowns are living, breathing reflections of renowned paintings depicting the night sky, moon, and stars. Metallic trends come to life through gold, platinum and silver brocade (ummm… Meghan Markle, were your ears ringing yesterday?!?!), beaded fringes, breathtaking illusion effects, and never-before-seen embroidered patterns, leaving a vibrantly-glamourous impression.

All the things we’re thrilled to see channeled into these collections:

LIGHTER FIT INNOVATION. Lighter and softer fabrics and lighter interior construction have been used to create the perfect stylish fit that is more comfortable (music to every bride’s ears). For the first time, ´The Inner Slimmer´ is being launched, a fit innovation wherein flexible + transformative shapewear has been integrated into the dress to celebrate the female body.
COLOUR PALETTE EXTENSION. The dresses have an extensive chromatic range, going beyond basic shades of white, to include precious pastel pinks, nudes, peaches as well as gold materials. Sparkling straps and delicate see-through effects have been added to respond to fashion trends (we’re always about those sparkling straps).
INCLUSIVITY. Pronovias believes every bride is beautiful (as every bridal brand should, of course), so their design teams have integrated larger sizes into their general offerings - which is now available from Size 34 to 64 - and eliminated their separate ´Plus Size´ capsule. To ensure the perfect fit is confectioned from top to bottom, a new pattern is being developed and applied from sizes 48 to 64. 🙌🙌🙌
NEW SILHOUETTES. In addition to classic silhouettes (like princess, mermaid, and A-line styles), unconventional ones like tuxedos, little white dresses and jumpsuits are being launched.
8 DISTINCTIVE STYLE FAMILIES. These new collections will expand Pronovias’ entire aesthetic repertoire with gowns that fit into eight separate and unique classification categories: Dramatic Ballgowns, Irresistible Ruffles, Ethereal Romance, Glamorous Laces, Breathtaking Minimalists, Stylish Classic, Effortless Bohemian, Unconventional and Maternity that address the needs of the modern, fashionable bride.

Really, though, we’ve seen dramatic ball gowns, glamorous laces, and breathtaking minimalism from P before, but everything else (especially the irresistible ruffles, ethereal romance, effortless bohemian and unconventional) is totally new territory - so it’s super exciting to see!!!
