Don’t Miss the Whimsical Spring Collection from Rebecca Schoneveld
The Spring 2018 bridal Collection from Rebecca Schoneveld was inspired by 17th century colonial chinoiserie decor and features whimsical elements such as embroidered dragonflies, bumble bees, ferns and dahlias. These natural elements are paired with ethereal tulles in gray and silver, and a selection of European brocades and jacquards as a fresh alternative to the more traditional white and lace gowns. There's something for every bride, and these gorgeous gowns will leave you feeling empowered. See slideshow of this stunning collection.
From Rebecca Schonveled
My main mission is really about empowering women to recognize their own natural beauty, and not to worry about conforming to the pressures of culture or fashion. My focus is on fabrics, fit, and designs that are modern yet timeless, allowing a bride's personality to shine through. I work hard on making designs that work on a wide range of body types (we offer our gowns in sizes 00-30!), to highlight the unique beauty of the diverse women who are my brides.
For our photoshoot this season, I knew I wanted to work with Colorado-based photographer Rachel Gomez again, as her fine art background and love of medium format film meld together with my classical nature so beautifully. For months, I dreamed up and meticulously planned out a gorgeous shoot that was to be in Miami, FL. Unfortunately, the shoot was scheduled for the very same week Hurricane Irma ended up making landfall!
Dresses are available in sizes 00-30
In a last minute scramble, I was blessed to come across Villa Nuits, an absolutely breathtaking property that is in Irvington, NY, just 45 minutes north of Manhattan (and happens to be rentable via AirBnB!). Built in the 1800's by a French textile tycoon and passed on generation to generation, it's now meticulously restored and boasts architectural details that had us all speechless. Being there feels like being in a dream!

Then recasting our model in a hurry, I looked up and down social media and basically prayed for the right woman to cross my path. In casting models, I always look for women who are healthy, and beautiful both inside and outside. I also love it when I can work with women of different backgrounds. When I met our model, Sarish Khan, I knew magic was about to happen! Sarish is not only a former Miss USA Pakistan, a budding movie star in South Asia, and triathlete, but she's also an attorney and a civil rights activist, focusing on projects that help propel women in her family's home nation forward. Hooray for strong women!!
I couldn't be happier with how everything came together in the end, even with all the struggles and moments of panic that were part of the project. I'm so proud of this collection and cannot wait for brides to start trying them on and sharing my love for them!
