I have a confession: one of my favorite parts about being a bride was being able to wear little white dresses repeatedly, throughout my engagement. I wore white for my bridal shower, white for my bachelorette, white for my post-wedding brunch, and LOTS of white for my honeymoon - and once it was all over, I just got the blues. Really. There’s rarely ever another time in your life when you can wear a certain color for an entire season (and we’re not talking winter, spring, summer or fall, either, we’re talking about your engagement season, your cycle as a bride) and not got stares. It’s expected and it’s exciting, and we’re SO here for it. That’s why we were so white-eyed and bushy-tailed when David’s Bridal wanted to team up with us on some LWD posts. Oh! And we shouldn’t forget to mention that little white dress doesn’t always connote occasion versus wedding dress. If you and your fiancé are planning to elope or will be embracing a minimalistic microwedding, you can rock a shorter style and still ‘look the part’ of a bride. There aren’t rules anymore with modern weddings - and we love it! You can also opt for a silhouette like a high-low or a streamlined sheath, which isn’t exactly text-book “LWD,” but still has those casual wedding dress vibes that so many brides are after RN.

The styles are well suited for elopements and honeymooning - but you probably didn’t even need us to tell you that, considering how the photos instantly transport you to an Italian villa, European estate labyrinth or even an intoxicating vineyard in Napa Valley.
