Thanks to Sweet Occasion Events and Ambre Williams Photography we are able to show you in a few easy steps how to transform any table into a earthy masterpiece. You might have to run to your local craft store first, but after that you will be able to easily create your own twig napkin ring holders. Perfect for an intimate dinner for two or for a gathering of one hundred.Gather Your Supplies
1. Twig garland (we got ours at Michaels next to the moss)
2. Floral wire (we used green but brown would be even better)
3. Wire cutters
4. Scissors
Optional Items
5. Fresh leaves
6. Glue dots
7. Napkin (not really optional)1. Cut your pieces
We opened up our twig garland and pulled apart six pieces of twigs. For a more refined napkin ring just use less pieces, perhaps three to four twigs. Cut the six pieces about 13 inches long. This gave us room to play with the shape, any shorter and it would have been harder to manipulate into the circle shape and wrap the wire around. Also, cut two pieces of wire each about three inches in length.2. Put wire on the front
Once you have your pieces of twigs cut we found it very helpful to use one of your pieces of cut wire to wrap around the middle section of the twigs. This helps to hold the shape in the front and keep all of the twigs together.3. Make your ring
We were intimidated at first to really curve the twigs into the circle shape we wanted but after some practice we realized theres no need. Dont be afraid to get aggressive with these twigsthey are more agile than you think! Just play with it into a curved shape and pull the two edges tight.4. Close it
Once you get the shape you want, use your second piece of cut wire and wrap it around where the two pieces meet to finish off your napkin ring. We suggest going a little smaller in the circle shape than necessary since while you are wrapping the wire the circle tends to become a little bigger. Your circle should be between 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter depending on the thickness of the napkin that you are using once you are done.5. Add your decor
We wanted to add some color to our neutral table so we found some little leaves outside and just removed them from the stem, placed a glue dot on the back of the leaf and stuck them randomly throughout the twigs so that it looked naturally occurring.6. Layer with feathers and set your table.
We love feathers and any chance to incorporate them we do! We layered a brighter colored feather under a more neutral one to add more depth once we had our napkin inserted through the ring.
