A Unique Theme This multicultural, South Asian wedding inspiration was a total stunner in every aspect. Thoughtfully-curated details brought in culture, custom, and a whimsically modern element to the table. Amanda Adams Photography captured all the details and the vision in film. The Venue The Strathmore Mansion , a Georgian Revival venue with columned porticos, palladian interior windows, and an outside garden, was perfect for this inspiration. The words from the modern Bengali Indian artist, Rabindranath Tagore, inspired magical vows of poetry. Our groom was a professional pianist! While the bride was getting ready before the ceremony rituals, the man-of-the-house got groomed and took some time to relax by playing his favorite tunes and filling the mansion with an enchanting musical symphony!
The Colors Inspired by the rich colors of South Asian culture, I chose a refined color palette that included jewel tones mixed in with neutrals and soft pastels to balance out the vivid shades. Colors evoke emotion, so it’s important to use it wisely throughout the design process. I chose bold and passionate hues of burgundy, hints of warm and romantic colors like magenta, calm and contrasting colors like the shades of sapphire, and accented all that with modern touches of metallic gold, ivory, and acrylic. There was a nice flow of the color scheme from the design aesthetic of the reception setup, ceremony backdrop, draped entryway, all the way to cake and stationery.
The Bride The couple was a total show-stopper in their traditional garments. For our bride’s dress, I chose a four-piece Lehenga set with an embroidered coat and heavily embellished Dupatta veil. The combination of mint and peach is both fresh and romantic! Our model bride was adorned with a custom-made, family heirloom jewelry set. Makeup by Noureen created a softer look for the bridal-makeup and an up-do that had an organic and romantic feel with real florals. Continuing the timeless tradition and pre-wedding ritual of henna, the bride’s hands were adorned with intricate designs by Cardamom Clove Henna . The most perfect cascading bridal bouquet by Beau Decor completed the bridal look.
The Groom The model groom looked royal in his mens suit, Sherwani, in complimentary colors, like the glamorous mix of navy blue and intense hues of maroon. A flower boutonniere in deep red roses tied in the colors from the bride’s bouquet.
The Cake The traditional touches were also incorporated into creating an embroidery inspired, jeweled design cake by Blue Lake Cakes .
Signage Letters by Becca added hand lettered signage, menus, and names to the unique place cards and wedding welcome mirror I provided. I hand-picked rentals and vintage details from the Party Rental LTD to design and style a dinner table, a hot beverage station, and a “leave a love note” station for the wedding guests. Our florist created the most beautiful floral centerpieces just as I had envisioned.
Cocktails & The Vibe For the cocktail hours, each glass was adorned with a peacock feather drink charm and served on a golden platter! Every element was picture perfect and consistent with the overall concept, and I’ve had a team of amazing vendors to thank for that! With the candles lit, the gorgeous flowers in place, and beautiful music in the air, the atmosphere was filled with a warm and soothing sense of romance. Let the season of love begin!
