If you haven’t been able to tell already, we are sooo excited that the destination wedding world is booming again. We LOVE celebrations that take us far away from our usual status quo, and, thus, we’ve been living for the weddings happening in the Florida Keys as of late. By the way, the Keys is made up of five incredible districts — Key Largo, Islamorada, Marathon, Big Pine Key & Lower Keys, and Key West — so if you thought you just had one place to explore, think again. Each of these special islands has its own vibe, and once you start planning a wedding, it’s only a matter of time before you start embracing your specific district ‘I dos.’ We’ve taken some hints from the Florida Keys Tourism Board and done some digging on our own to bring you a real-life snapshot of what getting married in this coral cay archipelago looks like. Just don’t be shocked if you find yourself playing eeny meeny miny moe at the end of this, because truthfully every locale is 🔥. You’ll just need to figure out what ignites your flame, specifically.
Well, that’s not all that hard to decipher. The Keys are very easygoing and informal, which kind of makes the usual stress of wedding planning melt away (or should we say wash out to sea?). The stretch of islands has an excellent stable of professional wedding planners who offer diverse packages at area resorts. They do so in friendly, supportive ways that’ll inevitably make you feel like you’ve just enlisted your best friend for help with your best day ever. Oh! They’ve got hook ups, too, to ensure that your wedding day is everything you ever imagined it would be — from your venue to your vendors, views to your ventures, your whole wedding vacay will be a vision and then some.
All you have to do to get started on your wedding plans is visit the Florida Keys & Key West Weddings page and click out to the region of the Keys that interests you the most. You’ll be able to connect with an island-centric wedding planner and/or zero in on venues/resorts that make your heart race.
When it comes to hosting the kick-off of your happily ever after…
There are oceans of reasons to live out your love story in Key Largo. Perfectly situated between the Gulf and the Atlantic, the first Key you come to boasts water as clear as fine crystal, breezes as gentle as your first caress and, of course, some of the most romantic sunset wedding venues on earth.
We’re obsessed with Baker’s Cay Resort, because intimate minimonies and microweddings fit perfectly into place like puzzle pieces here.
Islamorada may be the sport fishing capital of the world, but there’s truly no better place to land your laidback, fun-filled wedding: hook, line, and sinker. From the warm, clear water and superb food to the breathtaking sunsets and romantic accommodations, Islamorada’s lures are limitless.
We’re obsessed with Cheeca Lodge & Spa, because aerial views of what happens after the I dos have never looked better.
Few places hold a wedding candle to Marathon, in the heart of The Florida Keys. Here, blue skies, darling brides, unforgettable venues, and endless activities go hand-in-hand. With professional wedding planners to oversee every last detail, it’s the perfect place to walk down the aisle (nay, isle).
We’re obsessed with Hawks Cay Resort, because outdoor weddings are nothing short of breathtaking. Peep that sweetheart table (those jewel-toned velvet chairs welcome the guests of honor like they’re royalty, and, spoiler alert, you are on your wedding day)
Having someone plan your entire wedding? Sweet. Having your nuptials in The Lower Keys (perhaps somewhere as laid-back and chill as Stock Island — which had an amazing culture way before the Florida Keys had its present-day fame)? Delicious. Whether you dream of a barefoot ceremony, a formal black-tie affair, or something in-between, the professional wedding coordinators here pull all the strings so you don’t come undone when you’re tying the knot.
We’re obsessed with Little Palm Island Resort & Spa, because as America’s only private island resort, you can’t help but feel like you’re the only two people in the world (making it official under cotton candy skies).
The end of the road is just the beginning for wedding couples in anything-goes Key West. From crystal-clear waters and enticing breezes to tantalizing dining, romantic oceanfront accommodations, and some of the most fiery sunsets on earth, there's no better way to begin a blissful life together.
We’re obsessed with Casa Marina Resort, because when you want the water to sparkle and the sand to glow on your special day, they will with no surprises. Oh, and without stealing any thunder from you either...
We partnered with the Florida Keys Tourism Board to share this dreamy and diverse destination wedding spot with you. As always, thank you for supporting our sponsors!
