Hilton Is Offering Tons of Perks for Wedding Room Blocks
Not going to lie, once you’re in the thick of wedding planning, you tend to focus on the day itself and kind of block out what comes before and after. It’s normal and totally understandable, but you definitely won’t want to forget about your guests, because even if you’ve chosen to have a small affair, without them, it’s just another date between the two of you. One that involves new rings, dapper ensems, a lasting commitment, and [hopefully] some delicious wedding cake, but a date nonetheless. Are hotel room blocks really necessary?
When I got married five years ago, we had our wedding at an inn, so we had on-site accommodations for our guests (was amazing!!). Most standalone wedding+event venues don’t offer them, though, so doing some recon and scoping out nearby hotels with reasonable rates for your nearest and dearest is absolutely imperative… especially if you want to keep the party going into the night or into the next day/morning. Guests like to know they’ll have a nice, close place to retire to after all the reveling at your party; not to mention, knowing they won’t have to drive at any length late at night can ensure they won’t be limiting their fun. If you’re getting married in a busy city, too, you’ll want to have even more than one place for guests to consider booking for the night(s) - and at a variety of price points - so that friends and family won’t be getting salty over crazy expensive rooms with no alternative. ((My husband and I just went to a wedding in Rhode Island this weekend, and we were sooo thankful our friends who got married had a second hotel option available, $450 for the night was just a tadddd too much)).

Here’s how it goes: Hilton has launched an enhanced wedding incentive points offer for couples looking for room-block accommodations for their guests. Couples now have the ability to earn thousands more Hilton Honors Points, which can be put towards their dream honeymoon or future stays with Hilton even after the I Dos are done!
Upon completion of booking (beginning with as low as 10 rooms booked), now through December 31, 2019, couples can earn up to 70,000 Hilton Honors Points. And you’ll want those points, because they’re equivalent to some of the best “travel tokens” you’ll ever get your hands on.
