Not going to lie, once you’re in the thick of wedding planning, you tend to focus on the day itself and kind of block out what comes before and after. It’s normal and totally understandable, but you definitely won’t want to forget about your guests, because even if you’ve chosen to have a small affair, without them, it’s just another date between the two of you. One that involves new rings, dapper ensems, a lasting commitment, and [hopefully] some delicious wedding cake, but a date nonetheless. That’s why you’ll want to make sure you have 👌accommodations for all the people who will be coming to the wedding. Do it early enough, too, so that your crew can book rooms and send in their RSVPs nice and promptly. Our friends at Hilton actually have a special campaign running right now, offering couples some serious perks for arranging hotel room blocks with their participating hotels - more rooms booked, more reward points earned, and a happier happily-ever-after to follow. We’ll get into all the incentives, but you’ll have to read on for the details!
When I got married five years ago, we had our wedding at an inn, so we had on-site accommodations for our guests (was amazing!!). Most standalone wedding+event venues don’t offer them, though, so doing some recon and scoping out nearby hotels with reasonable rates for your nearest and dearest is absolutely imperative… especially if you want to keep the party going into the night or into the next day/morning. Guests like to know they’ll have a nice, close place to retire to after all the reveling at your party; not to mention, knowing they won’t have to drive at any length late at night can ensure they won’t be limiting their fun. Great hotel room block secured = #theopenbarwillbebangin.
If you’re getting married in a busy city, too, you’ll want to have even more than one place for guests to consider booking for the night(s) - and at a variety of price points - so that friends and family won’t be getting salty over crazy expensive rooms with no alternative. ((My husband and I just went to a wedding in Rhode Island this weekend, and we were sooo thankful our friends who got married had a second hotel option available, $450 for the night was just a tadddd too much)).
Luckily, Hilton has over 500+ hotels in an amazing selection of locations participating in this offer, including Los Angeles & Orange County, Washington, D.C., Atlanta, New York, Chicago, the list goes on... so finding something fitting for your squad isn’t too hard. In fact, you can probably find multiple close-proximity hotels to your venue, and have comfort knowing that you’re treating guests to exceptional standards across the board. What’s better than one of Hilton's hotels? Two… or three… Check out their featured destinations!
Hotel: Canopy by Hilton Minneapolis Mill District
Yes, you have to think about your guests and what will make their experiences as great as your own, but there’s also nothing wrong with benefitting a little bit. You ARE the bride and groom, right? When else can you make it all about you?
Here’s how it goes: Hilton has launched an enhanced wedding incentive points offer for couples looking for room-block accommodations for their guests. Couples now have the ability to earn thousands more Hilton Honors Points, which can be put towards their dream honeymoon or future stays with Hilton even after the I Dos are done!
Hotel: Waldolf Astoria Chicago
Upon completion of booking (beginning with as low as 10 rooms booked), now through December 31, 2019, couples can earn up to 70,000 Hilton Honors Points. And you’ll want those points, because they’re equivalent to some of the best “travel tokens” you’ll ever get your hands on.
Here are some examples of what you could accumulate, based on # of rooms that get booked, and what that translates to in points (**note, everything is subject to the hotels’ terms and conditions and rewards are based on the minimum point requirements, which all vary depending on availability and seasonality - these hotels are all luxury or full service hotels in some of Hilton's most popular destinations. Not to mention, for the budget-minded honeymooner/traveler the points program will score you even more free nights at other properties and locations!).
Here's just a sampling of a few of the perks you can walk away with with 30K points:
Hotel: Hilton West Palm Beach
In Waikiki, Key West, and West Palm Beach… just sayin’!
Hotel: Casa Marina Resort Key West
If you haven’t locked in accommodations for your faves yet, you might want to get on that. Simply mention the offer within your proposal request and Hilton’s expert hotel team members will be in touch to plan your perfect stay.
