In our small, but truly huge wedding world, we’re all called on to be more inclusive, diverse, and accepting. Sadly, we’re guilty of not doing enough to share how indispensable every black vendor is to this industry. Not only because the work of these talented tastemakers is stunning and speaks for itself, but because they appreciate just how imperative inclusivity is to our nuptials network and the greater soon-to-marry coterie. They lead with one impulse in mind, to be able to create the most special and unforgettable day for the couple in love: their commitment to and congeniality about collaboration, lit by their imaginative spirits, is just wholly unmatched. Not to mention, they share so much about themselves on their feeds and social channels to make their clients feel comfortable, familiar, and like they can embark on a lifelong friendship.

There are many ways to simultaneously show support to the Black Lives Matter movement and seek justice for all Black People. At the end of the day, though, if we can’t challenge racism head on, making acceptance, understanding, compassion, and equality basic requisites of our being, then we have no hope of turning things around.
Some of these vendors are part of our Wedding Chicks network, others are vendors we just follow and ❤️ from afar, because we haven’t had the privilege of meeting/working with them yet. And others are favorites of our colleagues, individuals who - without fail - show up with shining work, sparkling personalities, and unbelievable magic up their sleeves. They’re rockstars, in a word.
So, if you’re wondering how you can start being part of this monumental shift in societal consciousness, start here. Follow these members of our I Do crew, like their work, learn more about them, and reach out to have them play a vital and forever valued part in your wedding day.
