Trust us, we know just how stressful planning one of the biggest events of your life can be. That is precisely why we have created these 10 tips to keep you from losing your sh*t while wedding planning. This is your big day and it's all about you and your partner. You want everything to be perfect. Well, we are sorry to inform you that nothing and we do mean nothing is ever perfect.
No one is going to die from the decisions you make while planning your wedding. You may want to kill someone in the process but chances are no one will die. Remember that when you go into bridezilla mode and repeat "no one will die."
Let your partner have something that they want in the wedding. Even if your other half is not quite as gung-ho as you are - he or she may want to make decisions regarding something that's important from their perspective. Who cares if it's not exactly what you want? Learning to compromise early on is great for your relationship.
Make sure there are no 'strings attached' to the funds that you may be receiving for the wedding. In other words, before you accept money from family be sure to have a conversation about their expectations and role in the wedding.
Don't let friend and family expectations override what you want for your day. They can do what they want on their day, but this is your day to do what you want.
Don't get so easily offended by others who have differing opinions. After all, what happens when you get offended? Nothing. Absolutely nothing happens to you when you get offended. Try and reign in those freak out emotions, it will benefit you and everyone around you.
Be nice. Take a breath and be nice. Being a little b*itch will get you nowhere. It may get you something if you are throwing a tantrum because others want to avoid a scene, but then no one will like you. That's not fun.
Eat right! This will help you feel better overall. Eating healthy can give you a clear head when planning, keep you in a happy mood, and can help keep your energy level up. We don't want you having a Snickers Betty White moment.
Meditate! Give yourself 10 minutes in the morning to take it all in. Whether you are in the tub, in bed, or going for a walk. Take care of you FIRST to avoid getting overwhelmed.
Laugh about things that go wrong. Why? Because getting pissed and acting a fool will only stress YOU out. Besides, laughing makes everything better.
Have fun. Enjoy the process. Your life will not be ruined if you choose the wrong cake, venue or photographer. We can almost certainly promise that.
