Middle school sweethearts, Julie and James, tied the knot on a showery summer evening at the St. Louis Artist's Guild. Despite the rain these lovebirds had a wedding that was simply dreamy. Filled with shades of pink and mint along with pops of gold, this wedding just oozes Kate Spade-style goodness. From the Bride:James and I started "dating" in the sixth grade after a cotton-candy-laced kiss on the check at our school carnival. We wanted our wedding to be a fun reflection of that same youthfulness that inspired our romance in the first place. The design scheme was, in my opinion, a more chic than shabby Kate Spade-esque inspired theme, with a soft color palette of mint, blush and gold.
Our wedding was all the more beautiful thanks to our gorgeous flowers, by Randy at Artistry, and our playful invite suite, designed freelance by Kate Allen of Joy and Cake blog.
The ceremony and reception were both held at the St. Louis Artist's Guild, in the pouring rain - although, with such a wonderful photographer (Clary Pfeiffer) you'd never even know it. Our ceremony was at 6:00, immediately followed by a cocktail hour and the reception. Looking back, I think it would have been better to postpone the cocktail hour, so that James and I could have a few minutes to breathe it all in. We blinked once and the whole day was over!
Even though James and I imagined a warm, sunny outdoor wedding, the intermittent rain drops mixed with the notes of the quartet made for an intimate, magical ceremony. The soft rain ended just in time for the late-night ice cream cones and the dreamy sparkler send-off.
Celebrate your celebration in style, by adding fun tid bits to pretty up drinks. Julie and James opted for mint and green straws and mini yellow poufs to add a little fun to their guest's cocktails.
