Not only did it take place in California, home of sunshine, ocean breezes and to die for wine country, the laid back vibe of this lovely day is really a day dream paradise!

A Perfect Vineyard View
From A Perfect Day: The Wedding of Kate Reynertson and Adam Holte was a celebration in blue and yellow, or as the Bride so aptly named, Sunflowers and Sky. Kate and Adam got ready for their Wedding Day at the new Allegretto Vineyard Resort in Paso Robles.
The Ceremony took place in the ancient olive groves at Still Waters Vineyard, a truly special place. The trees are so old they have grown together on the top creating a natural canopy. Kate and Adam stood on a platform jutting over the estate vineyards. We placed a rug that had been used at the Bride's parents Wedding beneath their feet. Amazingly designed oversize floral arrangements were placed atop barrels and framed the Bride and Groom. Bouquets and floral throughout imaginatively embraced the theme of Sunflowers and Sky.
Drinks and Dancing
Cocktail Hour continued under the canopy of olive trees and then moved to an expansive grassy lawn below. The sweetheart table was a beautiful, hand made light oak rented from All About Events. The Bride made personalized wine glass tags that served as escort cards and favors and the groom made several DIY projects out of wine corks. The tables were La Tavola light blue and the tables were appointed with gold chargers, white china, royal blue linen napkins, paper sunflowers, gold flatware, wine and water goblets. Centerpieces consisted of multiple clear and blue vases with varying blooms and foliage in greens, yellows, whites and blues. Small mercury votives also graced the table.
It's Only Money
The budget went nuts. I thought I had the big things covered up front and was ok with spending there, thinking I could get away with doing a lot of things cheaper myself once I had a venue, a caterer, a photographer, and a coordinator. It's just not the case. Once you have the nice venue you need the nice rentals and the flowers and all the other things you never realized could cost as much as they do. And by then, your stuck planning the wedding you started planning. We managed to keep it small, and we loved our wedding, but going destination -- even just a couple hours away -- made a lot of diy options impossible and just kept inching up the costs EVERYWHERE.
