We are both from Adelaide, South Australia. We were never interested in the stereotypical, traditional wedding. I never wanted to walk down an aisle, wear a white dress, spend a ton of money on decorations and flowers or do anything just because that's what everyone else does. We wanted our day to be everything we wanted, for there to be no stress, no hassle and no one else but us. So we decided to elope and not tell a soul and what better place to elope than Las Vegas?
We didn't want to do the cliché chapel, and I love the desert and Joshua trees, so we got an incredible photographer and the best Elvis in Las Vegas, along with his baby pink Cadillac and drove out into the middle of nowhere with the top down. So there we were, in the middle of the desert, just us. We bought some champagne to pop, some smoke bombs to set off and a box of delicious donuts to have as our wedding cake.
We ended the night strolling through Downtown Las Vegas and I got my husbands initial tattooed on my ring finger, he would get me any ring I dreamed of but I guess it's just another way of making a point about what actually matters when getting married, and not conforming to what society tells you that you need. It was easy, simple, beautiful...and so much fun. We honey mooned all over the US, Mexico and Costa Rica, before finally heading home to share the news with our family and friends.

We never wanted to spend a huge amount on a wedding which was one of the many reasons we loved the idea of eloping. We would much prefer to spend our money on travel and our home.
To hire Elvis (Chad) for the afternoon as our celebrant and chauffeur, along with the pink Cadillac was around $1200.
Gaby was our luxury, however to have the perfect photographer is paramount to me. She created memories to last a lifetime and memories more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. We bought Gabys most expensive package so we could have her for a long period of time and she made us a beautiful fine art album. She also gave us a handcrafted USB and polaroids that were sent to us in a gorgeous box. This package was around $2800.
My dress and Drews suit cost us 3-4 hundred dollars each, obviously my dress isn't a stereotypical wedding dress so that was easy to do cheaper, in fact I would have spent more but I just loved it!
I got my makeup done at Sephora and took home the products and although I got my hair blow dried at the Bellagio, it was obviously destroyed in the Cadillac within the first few minutes! To top it off our only other expensises were champagne, donuts and some smoke bombs! All in all around $5000 USD.
