You won't believe this gorgeously styled wedding wasn't in Europe! Inspired by the romantic 2006 film, "The Holiday", Wild Bunches Floral and Scarlet Rose Event Planning recreated the character Iris' English countryside cottage for this shoot. Luscious floral design took the spotlight in the transformed space at The Wayback in Austin, while unique garden party details shone.
You'll have to keep reading to see how the groom model, Tyler, turned this magical day into a surprise proposal straight out the movies! All dazzling photography by Cori Brooke Young.
While European micro weddings have been all the rage - this editorial shows how thoughtful design with a vision can bring the destination to you! "The Holiday" was a serene inspiration to transform the gorgeous Austin venue into the Surrey countryside. The amazing vendor team envisioned greens, shades of cream, hints of purple to elevate the space into a timeless aesthetic.
The bride's first look radiated romance in a billowing, off the shoulder dress from Julian Gold. With rosy and delicate hair and makeup by Etoilly Artistry - Tess was a vision of a timeless, love story heroine.
Wild Bunches Floral created a stunning deconstructed arch for a styled ceremony, showing how exquisite flowers can bring your style to a natural, raw space. Some notable flowers that the team weak in the knees included Claire de Lune peonies, blush, yellow, and white roses and most of all, Gladiator alliums. As the floral artist is heavily inspired by European culture and design - these flowers transported us!

The iconic moment from "The Holiday" where Amanda enters the cottage inspired Wild Bunches Floral and Scarlet Rose Event Planning to blend patterned linens, textured florals, and bespoke table details for a charming reception.
To bring the cozy cottagecore quality to the tables, the team incorporated handwoven linens from Indian designer D'Ascoli; these paired beautifully with the most unique hand-painted tapered candles by MJ Tablescapes. The intentional, personal crafting of this shoot's details felt like a piece of the film, bringing the warmth of a real home and making the day all the more special for the vendors!
The continuity of elegant patterns throughout the space blew us away! Patterns in the crown molding of the bar facade matched the backdrop seating display while sketches in the stationary matched each element of the venue.
One of the most stunning patterns used seen on was the impressive toile cake by Olive + Aries - with a jaw-dropping amount of detail on each tier.
As this entire shoot was inspired by a romance film, it couldn't have been scripted any better when groom model, Tyler, pulled the vendor team aside to let them know he was planning to propose to Tess. The courtyard with suspended vintage birdcages was a picturesque location, overflowing with pastel florals. The moment was truly spectacular surprise for everyone and Tess could not have been more stunning in her whimsical floral gown from Julian Gold!
" I felt so honored to be taking part in this amazing moment that I quickly gathered the other vendors and got to work planning the perfect proposal. While Tess changed into her second look the team and I gathered more florals, set the stage near the birdcages, and prepped our photo and video teams to capture the moment. Moments later, Tyler got down on one knee and proposed. It was absolutely beautiful and a dream come true for all of us vendors to experience and capture." - Wild Bunches Floral
