Read on to hear more from Lauren, the bride, about how she and her now hubby met and fell in love and their photographer, MeewMeew Studios.
My childhood friend, Alison, asked me to be a bridesmaid in her wedding in July of 2014. When I arrived for the rehearsal dinner, Patrick and I noticed each other right away. Patrick was the groom’s brother and best man and when we were introduced, we found out that we share the exact same birthdate AND year! We got to know each other over the wedding weekend and soon after went out on our first date. Shortly after, Patrick returned to Oregon while I stayed in California. We kept in touch and Patrick came to visit me two months later, after that we began our long-distance relationship. Visiting each other at least two times each month for over a year, Patrick made the decision to move to California and we began living together. We’ve been together ever since!
On a trip to Maui, the couple happened to visit the Olowalu Plantation House and absolutely fell in love with the venue. Patrick also planned a secret proposal to happen while they were there, so, of course, the decision to have their destination wedding there was an easy one for the couple to make! After their original wedding date had to be postponed twice due to the pandemic, the couple’s rescheduled date happened to fall on one of the rainiest weeks that we’ve had in Maui in years. And though it did rain a touch on their wedding day, our beautiful couple did not let that deter them from enjoying their romantic Maui wedding to the fullest.
Joining their two lives together and celebrating the love that they share along with a close group of family and friends is all that they needed to make their Maui wedding day absolutely perfect! Although the wedding was very small, it was designed with a ton of beautiful details, in the bride's favorite sunset colors. Lauren's Morilee AF Couture dress beaded all the way to the bottom was a stunner as well!
