When they inquired with me about their 5-year vow renewal, Jessica and Corey told me that their original wedding day was a big, traditional wedding that they didn't love. This time they both wanted something different, something intimate and true to them, a day filled with amazing views, little luxuries, quiet moments, getting ready together, exchanging vows that they wrote for each other, and being together soaking it in the whole day! As the couple was already dreaming of Italy, we started planning their destination vow renewal in Positano. They brought their baby daughter and a couple of friends along for an intimate day and finally got to experience the wedding day they had always dreamed of.
From the open-air doors in every room leading to the balcony to the simple white walls and terracotta tiles, the look was classic Italy and matched perfectly with the timeless look. It offered two bedrooms, one for us and one for our friends traveling with us, along with a full kitchen and amenities for the private chef. There was no shortage of seating or views of the coastline and we were even able to watch fireworks in Salerno from the patio.
Everyone got ready in the same apartment, including their baby girl. Jessica lounged in a comfy set of pleated pajamas that nodded to the sleeves of her wedding gown as she prepared for the big day.
We own a wedding photography and videography business and Corey is a chief engineer in the military. We have learned so much after our wedding and the hundreds we’ve captured. We wanted to give ourselves the opportunity to do the day our way, with no external pressures, in a place we wanted to be, with the experiences we wanted to have. Having our daughter present with us during the ceremony was one of the best parts of the day.
Can we just say...we LOVE when couples go all out on their ensembles for vow renewals! The bride rocked a stunning mermaid gown by Aesling with pleated off-the-shoulder draping and some extremely photogenic sleeves! The groom looked just as dapper in a crisp black suit complete with a white shirt and black bowtie. Even the baby had a custom dress for the occasion!
