For Rebecca and Connor, a laundry accident led to a life-changing introduction. During their junior year at Missouri State University, Rebecca flooded her washer, and the water flowed down into Connor’s room below. She showed up with a case of beer to apologize. The exchange turned into a friendship, which blossomed into a relationship, and after five and a half years of dating, they moved into their dream home in Kansas City. A week before closing, Connor surprised Rebecca with a proposal on their vacation in Charleston, South Carolina. Rebecca wore a timeless, mermaid-style dress by Mikaella Bridal with elbow-length opera gloves from Cornelia James and vintage waves in her hair. She embraced her love for pearls with pearl-accented ivory pumps, earrings, and jewelry. Her bridesmaids donned dresses courtesy of The Dessy Group and Bella Bridesmaids, with hair and makeup by Makeuphill Beauty, Hair by Ezoza, and LV Hairdos.
Rebecca and Connor wanted an Old Hollywood wedding with a Great Gatsby-esque party. To accomplish this goal, their wedding day began with a ceremony that took place in the gothic-style St. Paul’s Episcopal Church featuring natural stone, wood, and romantic candlelight.
