Jeremy and Vanessa knew that they wanted a fun, relaxed wedding that was outside, and Orcutt Ranch was the ideal place to hold their vintage country fair inspired wedding. Complete with lemons, bbq, candy and balloons.
Their palette was based around Candy Dots: turquoise, yellow and pops of pink. Three words to describe Jeremy and Vanessa's wedding: nontraditional, colorful and whimsical. There is so much more to see in the full gallery here, all photographed by Katrina Louise.
From The Bride:Jeremy, who is a hopeless romantic, was very upset we were doing a first look, he was afraid he would lose that special moment of me walking down the aisle. So I promised him I would make it up to him, which I did. I surprised him with a special song as I walked down the aisle. Elizabeth Mitchell's version of "You Are My Sunshine" was played along with live acoustic guitar. This is not only our special silly song to each other, but what I didn't know, was also his grandparents song to one another. He burst into tears of joy (we both did) as I walked down the aisle.
The wedding party was small and family only...My brother was ordained just to marry us, my sisters were my maids of honor and Jeremy's dad and brother were his best men. The procession walked down the aisle to an acoustic version of Bill Withers "Lovely Day" played by a close friend, David Sparrow. My two best friends, walked down the aisle and read a special reading written by my father, but only family stood at the alter. To make the ceremony intimate and personal we set up our chairs in the round, we wanted to be sure everyone could see and hear. I also surround the ceremony by the large yellow balloons, so you were encircled by pops of happy color! We even did a champagne toast during the ceremony. We handed out champagne and my brother read a special toast right before announcing us husband and wife.
The reception included an open bar, candy buffet and all you can eat BBQ complete with Mac and Cheese!!! The table placements were bottles of Izze Sparkling Juice...each table was its own flavor with matching fresh fruit in orchard baskets. The tables were covered in burlap with mason jars and colorful mixed flowers. We had a homemade photo booth with fun props...the pictures are priceless! Jeremy and I danced to "Come Rain or Come Shine" by Ray Charles and I danced my father daughter dance to "Isn't She Lovely" by Stevie Wonder....my dads song to me since I was born.
We had a gazebo that housed our "Guest book Bench" a light blue rustic Pottery Barn bench signed with brown sharpies, that now sits at the end of our bed, to remind of our special day.
