Vintage Barn Wedding at Hope Glen Farm with Bold Colors

Happy bride and groom embracing on their wedding day

Carrie and Tony said "I Do" in a beautiful outdoor wedding at Hope Glen Farm. Using a bold color palette consisting of shades of reds, oranges and corals, Kathy Hallblade of A Vintage Touch decorated their wedding to perfection with vintage decor and touches of moss. As always, you can view more of this vintage barn wedding in the full gallery here, beautifully captured by Dani Stephenson Photography.

From the Bride:We knew we wanted something unique for our wedding venue. When we found Hope Glen Farm we knew it was just the place! Once we found our perfect venue our wedding really became an extension of us. Every aspect of it somehow represents us, what we love and where we come from. Growing up on a farm made the barn wedding perfect. From the bacon bar to the recipe book favors to the chocolate cake (we’re chocolate lovers) we had so much fun making this our own!

My favorite part of the wedding was the ceremony…despite the extreme heat. It was outside and backed up to a beautiful state park. Tony built a beautiful ceremony entrance out of wood and a set of vintage doors. It was so awesome to open the doors and see Tony standing at the end of the aisle. We had Pocahontas County, a bluegrass band, perform at the ceremony as well as my Grandma playing the piano with my aunt singing, which meant the world to me.

We really wanted a rustic, elegant, vintage feel. The vintage furniture and décor was styled by Kathy Hallblade (A Vintage Touch). Kathy and I become fast friends and her vintage treasures really became the inspiration for the rest of the wedding décor.

Tony made wood boxes for the flowers on each table. For the flowers, I wanted to use a lot of green and white and then pops of color in the coral and orange family. I loved the look of moss so we incorporated that into each table with moss balls and moss runners. I searched high and low for the perfect coral chevron fabric to make the table runners. I finally found it on Etsy. They added the touch I was looking for.

We love how Tony and Carrie used our free vintage monogram for their handmade bags. So incredibly ... cute right.

We are also head over heels in love with how used our free Thank-You printable on kraft bags. Such a great and inexpensive way to say Thank You!

If I were to do it all over again there are only a couple of things I would do differently:

1. I would hire a "day of" or "week of" coordinator to orchestrate the day to make sure all the details came together and that the timeline of events went as planned. I had a coordinator to do the decorating and styling but it would have been nice to have somebody overseeing the big picture.

2. I would have said something during our speeches (I chickened out). I'm a terrible public speaker and I get anxiety doing it, but I wish I would have personally thanked our guests, wedding party and my dad. You only get one opportunity to do it and I missed that one. Luckily, Tony did a great job on behalf of both of us!
