This vintage American chic wedding was all about getting thrifty and crafty! If Lisa and Dan didn't already own it, they made it. All for theirĀ big day which took place at the bride's childhood home! As you soon see this wedding is stylish and timeless and a true inspiration to any budget conscious bride/groom.
There are so many details to this fabulous day, and we highly suggest taking a closer look at all of them when you visit the full gallery here. All beautifully photographed by James Frost.
It was a pretty easy decision to get married at the house I grew up in because it is a very special place and we knew that our vision and creativity would have the most potential there. It also didn't hurt that the views are spectacular.
We had a very tight budget so almost everything in our wedding we owned, borrowed or made by hand. It was so much fun to get creative and to work with what we had available. Our whole vision came together pretty quickly. We wanted to make it really personalized and memorable for all of our guests especially and with it being at our house that gave us a lot of room for creativity.
A lot of the props Dan owns have a vintage western vibe to them. We ended up using his old records, western posters, old chests and suitcases, and a giant vintage coast guard american flag for the reception backdrop. We found a cardboard cutout of John Wayne, he was the perfect partner for the old time photo booth.
Don't underestimate the power of help. We felt so confident that we could pull off the wedding on our own, but we had to rely heavily on our friends and family to make it to the end, especially the day before and day of. I know now from experience that people who love and care for you want to help and like to be a part of your special day.
