With the California coastline in the background, this couple celebrated their love in a touching fusion ceremony that was all about two families from two different backgrounds becoming one beautiful unit. All of the garments for the Hindu ceremony were imported straight from Mumbai. Each ensemble featured gorgeous embroidery and rich vibrant colors. For the afterparty, the couple and their guests did a quick wardrobe change to Western cocktail attire and the bride rocked a slinky white mermaid gown (perfect for their seaside venue).
Limelight Productions helped the couple design their perfect day, making sure to incorporate the traditions that were important to both sides of the family. To start, they needed to find the location. Slide Ranch is a stunning, versatile venue with unrivaled views. Sweetness And Light Flowers designed these vibrant florals that add so much to the ambiance of the whole affair. Vivian Chen Photography took these stunning photos that are so full of life and color and Sesno Media Productions was there to get the whole day on film. After having to reschedule multiple times due to the pandemic, there was one silver lining: Emily and Akshai were able to land the venue of their dreams, Slide Ranch, on the West Coast due to forced wedding guest cuts. As the couple rolled with the punches during the pandemic, they highly recommend a wedding planner and day-of coordinator to assist with all the changes (the couple worked with Limelight Productions as their planner). Emily and Akshai were able to prioritize safety and public health by ensuring all guests and vendors were 100% vaccinated and all events were outdoors. It turned out to be a breathtaking South Indian-American fusion wedding celebration worth the wait!
Emily and Akshai got ready at a nearby hotel with outfits from Mumbai, India with their wedding parties. Dream Catcher Artistry was the glam team behind Emily's stunning look, with a touch of henna by Henna Traditions. Opting out of a first look in their Indian outfits, the couple drove to the venue together with the photographer, Vivian Chen, to capture stunning photos on the coast. It was wonderful and stress-free to get to the venue prior to guest arrival. As the guests were shuttled to the venue by Destination Services, they were dropped off by the sheep for the bharaat led by Dholi Rose and Akshai's brother, Ashwin! The traditional groom's processional went down the ranch path, passing chickens and ducks to reach the mandap, decorated by BYG Events. The guests witnessed the South Indian wedding by Sri Viswanathan while enjoying views of the Pacific Ocean. Those that were not able to attend the wedding in person, especially guests from India, got to watch it via livestream by Sesno Media Productions. The couple was finally married after multiple wedding date and venue changes!
Like most fusion weddings, Emily changed into a white wedding dress by BHLDN and Akshai into a suit by Indochino during cocktail hour. They did a first look with the water as their backdrop. The reception was held outdoors by the famous yurt, with greenery by Sweetness And Light Flowers on the tables to complement the rugged nature-y venue. The guests enjoyed a fusion menu by Jalsa Catering And Events. After cutting a cake by Cake Expressions, which honored their dog Jasper in the cake topper, the guests went into the yurt to dance the night away with DJ Erick of Verducci Event Productions. The first dance was absolutely magical with guests singing along with the string light adorned yurt. Emily and Akshai had the wedding of their dreams surrounded by their close family and friends. They recommend future couples to make wedding planning fun by combining necessary wedding planning with fun, active things to do. For example, they would go hiking at Slide Ranch after a site visit! In all, they're still reminiscing about how much fun they had and how perfect it all felt!
