Crafted by NJOY Events with stunning floral design by Birds of a Flower, this upscale camp-themed fall wedding at Basin Harber Resort in Vermont was a fusion of pastoral charm and refined New England taste. Because bride and groom Jessie and Jake were both former trip leaders, they knew they wanted a more rustic feel for their wedding day. One day Jessie called Jake and said, "Our wedding theme should be Camp Dowling!" The idea tied everything together and provided the perfect opportunity for guests to get to know each other over a weekend of welcome receptions, a golf tournament, and plenty of organized camp games, all captured on camera by Julia Luckett.
Jessie and Jake invited their guests to the event with a camp-inspired invitation suite by Christie Manhattan Beach that included an Adirondack table card, a luggage tag insert, a watercolor map of the campground, and plenty of images that brought back everyone's fondest memories of summer camp.
Basin Harbor Club matched the rustic camp vibe perfectly and was right down the road from Jessie’s family’s house on Lake Champlain. Because Jake proposed at Basin Harbor in 2022, the couple knew they wanted to share this magical place with all of their friends and family.
Heather of Birds of a Flower really embraced a fall, woodsy theme with the decor and brought the outdoors inside with saplings, fall colored flowers, and greenery decorating each event.
The bride and groom rode off in a Camp Dowling themed golf cart decorated for the day.
Jessie and Jake enjoyed a romantic cruise in a classic cris-craft boat across Lake Champlain following their touching ceremony.

The camp-inspired bar was complete with a classic sampling of wines and liquors and accented by rustic greenery and a wooden font spelling out "Camp Dowling." The cocktail napkins boasted this same font, creating continuity of the camp theme through cocktail hour and beyond.
Reception design included antique brass candlesticks paired with farmhouse pottery vases overflowing with florals, perfectly accenting Voyager Denim linens accompanied with plaid napkins and wooden chargers.
The newlyweds enjoyed cutting into a camp-themed cake complete with Adirondack chairs and a tiny smores setup.
