Wedding ceremonies vary by couple. Some are religious, and some are more spiritual, but this one was all about unity. Not just about two families becoming one, but the community that brought them to this point as a couple. For their ceremony, Rod and Anne asked each of their guests to bring in a flower as they took their seats, the officiant then gathered these flowers into a beautiful bouquet to symbolize the support of all of their family and friends. How beautiful is that (literally and metaphorically)?
Modern Vintage Events worked closely with Anne to design this lovely fall wedding. When they saw Cheekwood, with its luscious garden and beautiful stone steps, they knew this was the perfect venue for their outdoor ceremony. Ostara Gardens designed these stunning floral arrangements and provided the flowers for the special floral ceremony. We love these warm photos by Gipe Photography that capture the essence of the season and the love in the air. Here’s the beautiful thing about Rod and Anne, they know who they are and they know who they love. When life is lived in that realm of surety, it has more room for wonderful and less for all else. Rod and Anne’s love is steady and sweet, confident and kind, not a pendulum to drastically swing, but a rhythm to hum along and tap a foot to. Their gorgeous fall wedding day played out accordingly. People who know what they want tend to plan well. Anne, a gifted landscape architect, outdid herself designing the reception aesthetic: fall-colored florals and greenery designed with her skilled, creative eye, with the help of the experts at Modern Vintage Events. Custom lighting overhead was the icing on the cake.
Anne stunned in her elegant wedding gown, paired with long pearl dot earrings and a bouquet of perfect pops of pink. Rod was handsome too, in a fall-appropriate black suit, a white vest and tie, and a pocket square he said Anne would approve. What a pair they were and are together–bright, lovely, and worthy of celebrating. Many loved ones gathered to do just that in one of Nashville’s finest settings. Cheekwood’s Wills Perennial Garden was in full bloom as a 6-piece band played for their ceremony. Anne’s entrance wowed us all and Rod beamed. The officiant gathered flowers brought in by each guest, a symbol of unity, growth, and support. Their vows were sincerely shared. They drowned out some neighboring noise, as love does so well, and became husband and wife, surrounded by a world of beauty. Their reception was as lively as could be, full of music, fine dining, thoughtful words, and dancing. Anne graced the stage with a live performance of her own and Rod still beamed, this time wearing a feather boa while admiring his dancing queen. It was a night to be remembered for a couple in love and easy to enjoy.
