Only six months after meeting on a blind date, Hailey and DJ moved across the country together for DJ’s career. A few years later, they moved back to their hometown to purchase their first home together, and that same day, DJ proposed! To this day, the couple lovingly jokes about the day they "closed and proposed," solidifying their home and future together. Hailey and DJ were married just after their five-year anniversary at Wayland Brewing Company in Buffalo, New York. Sincerely Melissa & Co. assisted with planning the event, while the day was captured on camera by Rachel Maloney Photography.
Hailey and DJ’s wedding theme began with a classic black and white color concept but quickly took on a trend-setting new form, incorporating earthy elements and ultra-modern design details.
Hailey’s bridal look felt classic with a twist. Her strapless ballgown from Justin Alexander, fitting her perfectly off the rack, embraced a timeless silhouette with a modern bodice cutout. She paired the look with Sam Edelman sneakers for a casual yet elevated feel.

Wayland Hall, just twenty minutes from Buffalo, New York, offered a bright and airy setting for their celebration. They hosted a ceremony and reception in the same room, as the couple joined hands in front of a wall of draped ivory curtains, standing between two simple pillars of greenery and florals by Pretty in Pink Flowers.
While the venue was busy changing the ceremony setting into the reception portion of the event, guests enjoyed a gorgeous cocktail hour on the patio, complete with giant Jenga and plenty of good food and drinks.
Guests were greeted with a contemporary seating chart featuring alphabetical names with the corresponding table numbers and accents of natural vases overflowing with greenery. The coloration of the chart complemented the stone details found throughout the reception.
Custom stone table numbers were created by their wedding planner, who also designed their favorite component of the night — the cocktail bar. This bar included a custom sign that read “Hails Storm,” a pet name DJ calls Hailey whenever she enters “party mode.”
The guest book featured engagement photography and plenty of blank pages for guests to leave their advice and well-wishes.
The bride and groom made use of the venue space to get elegant, contemporary portraits with their photographer.
The room’s main feature, ceiling windows, added extra lighting, while greenery was strewn from the beams above. Long wooden tables were set with expansive rows of candles, utilizing a minimalistic approach to florals. Remarking on their reception space, Hailey noted, “It was truly the most romantic room we’ve ever seen!”
The couple cut into an elegantly minimalistic cake featuring smooth white fondant and white roses.
