After looking at a number of unique wedding venues Sarah and Travis came across Camrose Hill Farm, an old 1880’s diary farm covered with flower and herb gardens, Sarah immediately began crying and knew that this was their wedding venue. A special place where their guests can wander the paths of this beautiful farm filled with flowers and herbs. Since they both have a passion for organic gardening it really was the perfect place for them. Bonus! Camrose is also a flower farm they also provided all her wedding bouquets and centerpieces. We must say we love her cascading white and peach bouquet.

From The BrideWe couldn’t have picked a better day. In Minnesota, you truly never know what you’re going to get but on June 2nd, 2012 it was a perfect 74 degrees with cotton ball clouds. Arriving with my ladies in Travis’s enormous band van to Camrose is something I’ll never stop laughing about.
We arrived just in the nick of time to get dressed and start snapping photos. Our first look was absolutely amazing, and brought me to tears to see my husband looking so handsome.
We picked a variety of poems to be read during the ceremony: one Buddhist, one Native American and one from our good friend and officiate, Tom Johnson of The Johnson Family Band. In honor of Travis’s Ojibwa heritage, we incorporated a blanket ceremony. A blanket is presented to the married couple from the families as a symbol of union between the households. We then read the Ojibwa creation story, which discusses the Great Turtle which is depicted on our blanket. The ceremony music was done by Eric Larsen and Zac Gusa of the Sans Souci Quartet, and couldn’t have sounded lovelier.
With the help of Travis’s father, who works at Mintahoe Catering, as well as my sister’s very good friend Shauna Brick who was starting up her wedding planning and design business, Simply Loves Wedding and Design, we were able to come up with the vision that would encompass our passion and love of music and plants, while keeping a personal touch on everything.
I wanted to keep the color palette soft, with antique pastels and lots of brass and tarnished metals. We were able to tie in my love of herbal medicine with a variety of antique medicine bottles found at near by Stillwater antique shops.
