Gorgeous Tulum jungle wedding where every detail was on point

bride and groom in jungle

In a modern escape in the jungles of Tulum Ivonne and Diego tied the knot with 55 of their closest family members and friends. And you'll never believe that this insanely gorgeous wedding was only $45,000! Now, that's still a ton of $$$, but as weddings go it's surprisingly affordable, especially considering how extra this wedding is. From the custom signage and lush floral arrangements to the healing crystal favors, you won't want to miss a single detail!

They trusted Moni Junco to help them plan their dream wedding from afar and from what we can tell, they were in VERY good hands. Together they found the perfect venue, Kima Tulum , which was the perfect fusion between rustic tropical charm and modern industrial chic. Moni Junco had a hand in all of the details and even did all of the florals you see, from the arch to the hanging installation over the dancefloor. We love these cool moody captures by Button Up Photography and the way they play with light and shadow to create wedding photos that are just begging to be hung on your wall. Keep scrolling to see more from this gorgeous tropical celebration and to hear more from Dorothee Ftaiti and the bride.

Ivonne Aldaz and Diego Fernandez met in college in 2010. It was Ivonne’s first time at Subway (the sandwich restaurant), and she couldn’t figure out what to order. Classic. She asked the guy standing behind her for recommendations – but little did she know, she was speaking to her future husband. They became friends – but Diego temporarily moved away, they lost contact, and life went on. Nearly four years later (2014), Ivonne was carrying a heavy box up some stairs. As she reached the top of the stairs – there he was, sitting on a bench, after several years. As any gentleman would do, Diego immediately helped her carry the box. They caught up and spoke for hours – until the sun came up the next day – and they became inseparable ever since. In January 2017, Diego proposed to Ivonne on top of a snowy mountain – wearing a penguin suit (long story short: search “the penguin soulmate story”).

Bride Ivonne looked immaculate in her lace and organza mermaid gown with its low back and plunging neckline. She wore her hair down in lovely Old Hollywood waves and opted for a fresh, natural makeup look with a slightly smokey eye. Her groom, Diego, was also dressed the part in a beautifully fit black tux and matching black bow tie.

They quietly married in a courthouse just two months later – and in January 2022, amid a looming pandemic, they finally celebrated with their closest family and friends in the most magical venue in the middle of the Mayan jungle – Kima, Tulum . Moni Junco , our wedding planner, and designer, did a phenomenal job at bringing our vision to life – a luxurious, relaxed, romantic, minimalist experience that guests cannot stop raving about to this day.

Twinkle lights and stars reflected the pool, creating the most beautiful and intimate ambiance. There were fire pits burning a lovely, meditative scent – White Copal – that floated through the air during the reception. The dinner by Ginger Tulum was outstanding – and the drinks, made by Kima’s very own Mixologist, were some of the best we’ve ever had. favor game on point Healing crystals were placed in each guest’s place setting, which they kept as favors. We also had polaroids and disposable cameras passed around, which were such a hit. Every detail was perfect.
