We only looked at this place and we knew form the beginning that it was the perfect fit. The kooky and eclecticness, mixed with the natural beauty of the land with the dramatic mountainscapes made for an unbelievable and magical place. The ranch is a real working ranch, so we also enjoyed free ranged donkeys, cows, wild pigs, horses, and chickens galore (we enjoyed watching a mama hen laying her new batch of eggs at our rehearsal dinner!).
The crafts and details that we made, mixed with our florals that a good family friend provided made for a very special setting for the most important day of our lives!
We handmade all of the decorations for the event. Luckily my husband who is not a procastinotor (like I am) really helped in keeping us in the schedule! We made the altar from salvaged wood and old windows, the center piece planter boxes and wooden coasters, all of the signage and fabric banners, and the majority of the wedding favors.
For our favors we had a ‘general store’ where guests could choose to bring home homemade lilikoi butter, lilikoi jelly, honey coconut beeswax lip balm, cookies, a pineapple, and other goodies. The wedding was a lot of work but we really enjoyed the process of putting everything together, and it had so much personal touch.
We really went the DIY route and planned everything. But at the end, we went with having our parents friends be the ‘day of’ corrdinator. She was amazing and did a great job! However we also hired a couple other companies (music, catering) that each came with their own day of coordinators. It was difficult to have many people that only knew a piece of what was going on-instead of just one that was overseeing everything!
