Flawless and beautiful, this preppy chic celebration took place at the Port Royal Club in sunny Florida. Their vision to have a traditional wedding turned out gorgeous in shades of ocean blue and white. They even had a sailboat personalized with their name and wedding date. How cute is that?!

Getting ready

From the bride: My eleven bridesmaids were there bright and early and made the morning great. I loved being able to spend the morning in my childhood home with the girls that mean the most to me. I had gotten the girls cute pink J.Crew button down shirts for getting ready and with Duality Makeup Artistry doing makeup and Andrea Alikaj doing hair it felt like a party. We took pictures at the house with the girls and our photographer, Dustin from Sunglow Photography before going to the church.

Traditional Catholic ceremony

The entire ceremony was perfect. Having a traditional Catholic mass was really important to Matty and me so we had a full ceremony that included the eucharist, a unity candle and a flower presentation to Mary. My cousin celebrated the mass and another cousin concelebrated while the rest of the ceremony included close family and friends in readings, prayers and the presentation of the gifts. The celebration of the sacrament is my favorite part of the wedding day as a guest so to have it be your own wedding was truly amazing. After the ceremony we went straight to the beach for photos and then the reception.

All the best details

After photos at the beach we got to the reception to be announced and let the party begin! We danced the entire time and soaked in every minute of the party together. We had a plated dinner that brought back fun memories of the wedding tasting and a dessert room filled with Skittles, Matty’s favorite, custom sailboat cookies from Cookie Couture and four flavors of mini cupcakes from Sweet Caroline’s. From the sailboat with our names and wedding date to the cake my mom designed as a surprise, every detail was perfect. The team we had worked together flawlessly. It is a day we will cherish forever.

Advice from the bride

This may sound obvious but amidst all the planning it’s easy to forget to talk to each other about your priorities for the wedding day. Have a conversation about your big day with your fiancé beforehand, my mom recommended we talk about our expectations so we could be on the same page and I’m really happy we did. For example, we both love dancing and wanted to spend a lot of time on the dance floor but agreed we needed to take some time to say hi to the friends and family that traveled near and far to be there with us. We didn’t want it to be that one of us was telling the other one what to do, it was all about enjoying the day together and having a mutual understanding of the day beforehand was really helpful.
