Jack and Olivia met when Jack became roommates with one of Olivia’s best friends from high school, and they immediately hit it off. Despite this barrier of Jack moving hours away to attend PA school, they decided to give the 2 years of long distance a try. The couple made it through the challenge, and Jack asked Olivia to be his wife in one of their favorite places in the North Carolina mountains.
From the charming reception venue to the black and white dance floor and the unique trolley transportation for the wedding party, this fun, traditional wedding fulfilled Olivia and Jack’s every dream for their big day. Keep scrolling to see the beautiful photography of this day at

For Olivia, the decision to use black and white colors was a no-brainer since she knew two things from the start: 1. She wanted her groom to wear a classic black tux with suspenders, and 2. A black and white dance floor was a must. The idea for the pops of green was inspired by the couple's soon-to-be-shared last name: Green! The vintage feel of The Morehead Inn was also exactly what the couple pictured, with its cozy library, antique decor, and impressive chandeliers. Coincidentally, the outside of the house (such as the vines growing on the chimney, the green roof, and the white building with black shutters) tied the theme colors together and made the perfect backdrop for Sthefanie Carriker ’s photos of the bridal party.
Strategically placed garlands and bouquets of baby’s breath, with white roses in the bridal bouquet and the boutonnieres, planned by A Simple Affair Events and put together by Mimi Eden Florals , added even more character at both The Morehead Inn and the Belk Chapel on the day of the event. An ornate garland of baby’s breath adorned the banister of the inn’s staircase, and another was positioned at the front of the chapel where Olivia and Jack exchanged their vows.

Since the couple chose the historic inn for their wedding venue, family and friends were able to gather for an entire weekend celebration, enjoying the southern hospitality found amidst the twelve guest rooms, the library, the great room, the tea room, and the courtyard. In reflecting on the day, bride Olivia shared the following advice: "Remember the purpose of a wedding is for your loved ones to bear witness to the covenant you are making with each other. It’s not about choosing the perfect napkin or trying to keep up with the latest trend. Don’t lose sight of the why behind your big day, and make it truly what you want it to be" - advice the couple lived by themselves!
