If you're looking for timeless wedding inspiration, look no further than this absolutely stunning wedding in Wilmington, North Carolina. From the muted blush color palette to the wedding wardrobe, every element is perfection! The bride, Alyssa, had been dreaming about her wedding day for a while, so when it was time to start planning, she already had her inspiration board ready to go. She knew that she wanted pretty pastels on a crisp black and white backdrop with voluminous florals to really amp up the romance factor...and we're in love!

The couple entrusted their vision to Meg Henson Events who curated the perfect team of vendors to bring it to life. Between the color palette and the lovely location, The Atrium was just the right venue for this beautiful day. The flowers were particularly important and Mother Of Wild Flower House did not disappoint with the bride's full rose and orchid bouquet. Like most couples, Alyssa had a difficult time putting into words what they were looking for in their photos, but The Axtells: Wedding Photography & Films captured their big day better than she could have ever dreamed. A BRIDE WITH A VISION

Eric and Alyssa's wedding day was nothing less than glamourous, elegant, and romantic–everything most couples dream of. While they live in Philadelphia, many couples who seek out a domestic destination wedding settle on the quaint, coastal city of Wilmington, North Carolina. The couple chose The Atrium in historic Downtown Wilmington, an urban garden oasis that shelter's its guests with natural greenery in an open courtyard. Designed and coordinated by Meg Henson Events, Alyssa's vision was brought to life by her vendor team. Alyssa’s vision was truly the inspiration for her wedding day. She knew she wanted soft, full, romantic florals, all of which were designed and created by Alyssa Ait of Mother Of Wild Flower House. Next was her dress, and thanks to the ladies at Mari Mi Bridal in Philadelphia, PA, Alyssa was able to design a one-of-a-kind Badgley Mishka dress, that also came with a custom shawl made out of the same material. Alyssa and Eric’s rings were purchased from Brilliant Earth, and Eric’s tuxedo was rented from The Black Tux.

CAPTURING THE MOMENT

But, of course, her vision wouldn’t have been brought to life without her photo and video team. Alyssa knew she wanted a timeless and romantic style of photography, but didn’t want exactly “light and airy,” but also didn’t want “dark and moody.” The Axtells were the perfect combination of light and bold, timeless and true to life, and went above and beyond to capture the day better than she’d ever imagined it could be documented.

Finally, Alyssa and Eric have such a special way to hear the well wishes from the guests and family from their reception thanks to After The Tone, who helped provide a vintage phone where guests could leave a “voicemail” message for the couple to listen to after the wedding day. Alyssa’s bridesmaids were dressed in gowns from Park & FifthMaura Kropke from the Wedding Violinist provided ceremony music, and Regal Events DJ provided the entertainment that helped their guests party the night away.

SOME ADVICE FROM THE PRO

Tip #1: If you want an easy way to create multiple looks for your wedding day, consider speaking with your dress shop and see if they can construct a removable item. Items like sleeves, a shawl, a sheer blouse, etc. are great items that you can wear for one part of the day and easily shed to create a totally new silhouette.

Tip #2: Another easy way to create a whole new look is with your hair. If you dream of having your hair down for your ceremony, consider a fun and elegant pony or braid for your reception. It’s going to get hot, and creating a new up-do is a fun way to surprise your guests (and keep you cool).

Tip #3: Finally, don’t be afraid to grab all the pieces of inspiration while you’re planning. The more you pull, the more you’ll be able to develop your overall vision. But once you feel like you’ve pulled as much as you can, start to edit, and share your final ideas with all your vendors to help them get inspired as much as these items inspire you.
