From W&E Photography: Anne Michael hosted their wedding in a remote ghost town nestled deep in the San Juan Mountains – the venue was a historic miner’s inn from the 1800s, now known as Eureka Lodge. The setting made you feel like you’d traveled back in time, transported into those old black white photographs of western miners in the 1800s.
Michael grew up visiting Southern Colorado often with his family. As a pair, Anne Michael, have traveled the world, yet they’ve always had a fondness for Colorado. We too, have a deep love for the tall pines and sweeping mountain ranges that cover this incredible state and count our blessings each and every time we get to return – for work or play.
From the couple: The biggest chunk of the budget went to our AMAZING venue. We wanted a place that really reflected who we were and as a bonus, we were able to house some of our closest friends for the wedding weekend. It was like summer camp with all of our favorite people. Other big ticket items were catering (delicious),;transportation(necessary for our remote venue), and flowers (beautiful!).
From W&E Photography: Anne & Michael are quite possibly two of the most laid-back, yet adventurous people. These guys were up for anything – willing to cross any stream, climb any mountain and walk along the cliffs edge while we followed them around with our cameras. The entire day was straight out of a dream.
One of our favorite details (besides the sweeping views)? The seating chart! It’s such a fun way to get creative and interactive with the guests. Each table displayed a postcard of a different national park and the guests found their seat by the wooden US map which charted out the location of each park. It was perfect for this outdoor-loving couple.
