Sarah and Kyle were married on a misty June day in the Green Mountains of Vermont. Sarah, who used to work in the wedding industry herself, designed much of the event, adding so many personal touches to the celebration.
This wedding proves a barn can be beautiful for a rustic wedding! The couple said their beautifully heartfelt vows on a hillside and then guests were taken by tractor to the reception, which was held
in the elegantly decorated barn. Snatch up some of their ideas and more in the full gallery, photographed by Rodeo & Co Photography.
From the bride: I would say it's really important to remember that this day is about the two of you. My husband and I went into the planning process thinking of this as the best party we were ever going to throw. We tried to make it as fun and personal as possible, and we tried to make sure that we weren't doing anything that we wouldn't enjoy just because it was expected by someone else. At no point during the day did we think "God, I wish we hadn't been talked into doing this.
I learned months later that not only had one of my maids of honor been unbelievable hungover all morning, my sister had actually had insane food poisoning! She was sick right up until the ceremony, but never let on. Both of them were unbelievably amazing, and I had NO idea that anything was wrong! So I guess my best advice on dealing with disasters is to have a bridal party that will do whatever they can to make sure you don't hear about the disasters until at least the day after.
On the day of, I would have said that the closest we came to disaster was a little rain. It went on for most of the day, but for exactly 45 minutes at the time of our 20 minute ceremony the rain paused, and we were able to have the ceremony outside, as planned.
