This Couples Soft Blue and Grey Big Day Nearly Had Us In Tears

We love a happy wedding couple, but let's be honest, happy isn't the only emotion happening on a wedding day. Anna and Kevin showed us that the emotional rollercoaster that your big day puts you through is just as beautiful. So prepare to dry your eyes and/or smile through your tears, this blue and grey wedding is as lovely as it is tearful!

You can see more of the heartwarming photos of Anna and Kevin, taken by Ella Florence Photography in our full gallery

Getting Ready

Anna, the Bride started the morning at her childhood home in Kirkland, WA with all 8 of her attendants, which included her two sisters, two of her cousins and four of her lifelong friends as well as her mother, and her soon to be mother-in-law. They got their make up done by Bethany Yackel Beauty and helped each other with hair, all while sipping mimosas.

While getting ready Anna was wearing a necklace that her brother had given her at her rehearsal dinner the night prior. This was especially meaningful because the necklace was one her dad had purchased for this occasion before he passed away.

Meanwhile, Kevin, the groom, and his attendants were at the bride and groom's home getting ready, drinking beer, and eating pizza. When it was time, they then took the short walk down the street to the church.

The Ceremony

Kevin had insisted that he not see the bride before the wedding ceremony, as soon as those doors open the waterworks started and really didn’t stop all night. There was just so much love; everyone was emotional.

Anna’s father passed away the year prior to the wedding from cancer, so her mother had the honor of walking her down the aisle. The priest that presided over the ceremony was the chaplain at Eastside Catholic High School. He knew all of the brides siblings and had celebrated her father at his funeral the year prior.

The Photo Session

The Bridal Party all got on to a party bus to go to photos post ceremony. They went to two locations; the first was the Kirkland Marina, then to St. Edwards St Park where Anna’s father had attended Bastyr University and then later worked in Naturopathic Medicine on that campus.

The Reception

The reception was held at Russell Lowell in Bothell WA; the venue itself was stunning. All the name tags, menus, invitations, table numbers and RSVP cards, as well as the donut display, and all the signs were made by the bride. The handmade wooden blocks that the name tags were in were made by the bride's brother and her sister's fiancé. They were made out of walnut and were another tribute to the bride's late father, as one of his main joys in life was woodworking.

From the Bride: At one point in the evening we went up to the loft that looked over the whole venue and just took it all in, we were able to look over all our loved one and really just take in the moment. The whole day was perfection. I have never felt so much love in my entire life.
