For their romantic Grecian wedding, Christine and Apostolos not only worked with their planner to create the design, they set out to create a specific mood for the day. This experiential approach to wedding design is a trend that we can get behind. Everyone needs an escape right about now and where weddings were once about tradition and formality, they're now about giving you and your guests a reason to celebrate in style and a night (or weekend) to remember! It all starts with picking a great location, and it's hard to beat the weather and the view from Pelion Mountain in Greece.
The couple asked VK Events & Lifestyle to create for them a minimalist theme inspired by white roses and olive branches to let the natural beauty of Xenia Palace Portaria, their spectacular resort venue, shine. George Liopetas Fine Art Photographs followed the couple to document every step of the day from getting ready to their first dance as husband and wife! It's so important to capture all of those special little moments in between because they really do fly by. Last July, I was more than privileged to be the one to capture the beautiful wedding of Christine and Apostolos. The location? One of the best sceneries in Greece, the Pelion Mountain. Vasiliki Kontonatsiou, owner and designer of VK Events & Lifestyle, was in charge of Christine and Apostolos’ big day. The mood was peaceful and happy. The design was based on olive branches and white roses. And the mood of the day was love and happiness.
Beginning, we started styling the flatlays, and then we continued shooting the bride and groom’s preparation. Famous Greek MUA Freddy Kalobratso, known for his work in magazines like Harper's Bazaar, Elle, and Porter, did the bride's makeup and the amazing hairstylist Konstatninos Rompolas did her hair.
After some beautiful moments, we traveled from Pelion to the port of Volos where the ceremony took place. After Christine and Apostolos tied the knot, we took the road to Mount Pelion and the amazing Xenia Palace in Portaria village. As you can see in the gallery, the view and the greenery stole the show. The guests shared a welcome drink by the pool while the couple and I were creating some beautiful portraits. Their first song would be nothing less than a romantic tango, full of smiling and tears of joy.
