From the Bride: I fell in love with Berta Bridal the first time I saw her dress, and I knew from the beginning that I would be a Berta Bride. Her bridal gowns still fit the traditional bride look with such intricate and elaborate detail that makes it so unique. I knew with how long of an aisle I had at the Cathedral, that a long train would be perfect, and having an even longer veil would complete it all.
We both come from Catholic families, so we knew we were going to get married in a church, but without a clear focus on an area we tried to narrow it down to what was important to us. We met just outside the city, starting dating while both living in Boston, and we now live in Boston, it's been the center of our relationship so it made sense to keep it that way. A lot of our friends are local to Boston, and the majority of our families live in the surrounding suburbs so we really loved the idea of having an exciting city wedding.
I wanted to make sure our wedding all tied together perfectly. While we wanted it to be a nice formal event, we still wanted it to have a cozy charm to it. We had mini-books for our programs that not only gave the order of events for the ceremony and bridal party names, but also gave guests some information of sights to see and things to do around Boston. Our welcome bags were Boston-themed that included things like Boston walking maps along with Boston Harbour tea bags, Boston baked beans candies, and lobster gummies. To finish it all off we sent our guests home with cannolis from our favorite pastry shop in the North End to give them the "full Boston experience."
This wedding was an absolute dream from start to finish! A classic, elegant, city wedding that incorporated all of Boston’s best from the historic church in the South End, formals in the Boston Public Garden, lobster rolls and “chowd-ah” served before dinner, & cannoli’s from the north end for dessert!
