From the Bride: It was fate really!!! Let me explain that sentence a bit further. Neal and I visited Santorini for the first time in May 2016 with a slight inkling that maybe we could get married on this beautiful island. One day while checking out the picturesque Imerovigli we happened to meet the amazing Maria from “Tie the Knot Santorini” by pure fluke as we had bumped into the talented Alexandra from “Alexandra Cakes” while delivering one of her masterpieces to Le Ciel. We asked who was planning this wedding and she replied her friend Maria. We were introduced, met formally two days later and the rest of the story lead to the perfect wedding.
The Venue After checking out a few different venues that Maria had tailored to our guest size and requirements. We were blown away by the Santorini Gem. The views feel illusory because they are so magnificent. The manager at the Gem had a beautiful aura and ease about her which made us feel like this was definitely the place for us.
The idea of getting married abroad can be very daunting and lead to all sorts of fears. However, we can honestly say we made the best decision by choosing Santorini. This was mainly due to the care, professionalism, quality vendors, design abilities and attention to detail that the perfectionists Maria and Miranta provided. I actually had to do very little but fill out a detailed questionnaire and make final decisions on what we wanted. It was an easy process based on a trust in our wedding planner. From listening to experiences of our friends getting married here in Ireland, it seems a lot more stressful.
Santorini is definitely a place that everyone should visit at least once in their life. Our wedding guests feel we gave them a gift by inviting them to a magnificent place they never considered visiting. We look back at our wedding pictures, that Elias so effortlessly captured and nearly have to pinch ourselves to believe that was our wedding. It's really important to invest in a talented wedding photographer as we did!
