Weddings in Lake Como will always be breathtaking, so we wouldn't be too out of left field by saying this real wedding was a total beauty like the rest. That being said, for some reason, the Italian weddings we're used to seeing are spring and summer affair: the colors are traditionally softer and more delicate, the sun blankets the sky and reflects on the water, and you just feel lighter somehow. The union of Amanda and James, however, happened in the fall in a small, intimate celebration in sunny Italy - and it was just as captivating - very warm, both in mood and design. The main element that adorned the coupe was happiness and it's exactly what the vendor team fell in love with even more on that fateful fall day.
Edelweiss Weddings planned the entire day, Della Bella Fiori finessed all of the flowers, and Olga Makarova shot the whole sensational thing at the Grand Hotel Imperiale in Moltrasio, right next to the water (gahh! incredible). Amanda and James met on the internet, like many couples. Only now, their subsequent history has been so filled with surprises that it cannot be called ordinary at all. This couple conquered us with their tender feelings and attitude towards each other.
Our inspiration was Autumn with light baroque elements. Edelweiss Weddings and Della Bella Fiori chose a bright foliage-forward palette interspersed with gold. The juicy fall colors contrasted stunningly with Amanda's celebration looks, which comprised two very feminine lace dresses by Italian couturier Antonella Lepriero. For her ceremony, she chose a modest silhouette and high neckline; for her petite reception, she opted for something rather bold and sexy with an open back and enchantress lace sleeves. Both fashions epitomized Amanda's femininity and sophistication, along with custom crafted hair accessories and earrings from Della Bella Gioielli.
The baroque-impression wedding stationery from Edelweiss Weddings was created especially for this couple on handmade paper.
With Amanda, who loves surprises, she truly shocked and moved guests when she showed up and showed off an accessory that was full of originality and that totally elevated her ensemble: red velvet shoes from a young Italian designer from Florence, Chiara Cesaraccio.
With James, on the other hand, we preferred the unchanged and beloved classic - the black smoking setup from Sanvenero Cerimonia.
