Guest books are a must for every wedding. Not only do they make a great keepsake, they’re the perfect place for your friends and family to leave their good wishes for you as a couple and even some words of wisdom for your journey ahead. But these days, a standard book simply won’t do. Couples are thinking outside the box and creating some cool guest book alternatives that really add to the wedding design–take this beach wedding in Cape May where the couple had their friends and family sign a surfboard!
For their beachy wedding, Kierstin and Matt trusted Laura Ashley Events to bring their vision to life. The day started with a touching ceremony at Willow Creek Winery and then the couple made their way to the beach with their loved ones for a fun laid-back reception. They kept the design bright and sunny with these vibrant florals by Devon & Pinkett. Emily Wren Photography captured every special moment and all of the fun details from the “find your beach” escort card display to the surprise “his and hers” surfboard gift exchange. Kierstin and Matt are both athletic, and really enjoy surfing, so much so that it became a theme woven throughout their wedding day! Without planning it, they surprised each other with the same gift on the morning of their wedding–a surfboard! After getting ready with their bridal parties, they headed to the Our Lady Star of the Sea church in downtown Cape May for their first glimpse of one another as Kiersten walked down the aisle.
Afterward, at their portrait session on the beach, surfers coasted past them in the background, making a perfect setting for these two beach babes! The bright, colorful blooms and vibrant peonies by Devon & Pinkett added more summer flair to their decor, which complemented their unique guest book–a surfboard! They ushered guests outside for late-night snacks at a food truck before their sparkler sendoff.
