We hope you're ready for Jessica and Andy’s adorable desert sunset wedding in Arizona! Their unique vision featured whimsical desert decor with a hint of glam, and the their awesome breakfast for dinner spread is one for the books!
Oh and did we mention the brides GORGEOUS sunset gown from Cleo and Clementine? It’s almost too much to take in, but believe us when we say you must check out the full gallery for even more amazing details beautifully captured by Bradford Jones.
From the bride: After stepping foot inside Cleo and Clementine, I knew I was in the right place. Monique and Rachel were incredibly kind, talented, and most importantly, wanted to make sure I was in love with the dress every step of the way. Taking inspiration from the colorful Arizona sunset, my ballgown was beautifully hand-dyed and had layers upon layers of tulle. It was bespoke from start to finish, and somehow only cost a fraction of the mass-made gowns I had seen at other stores! I was so in love with my dress that our wedding cake was designed to match it exactly.
We wanted our wedding design to include a color palette similar to an Arizona sunset--warm, bright, and colorful--and loved the idea of incorporating cactus elements throughout the day. From succulents in the floral arrangements (including the bouquets and boutonnieres), place card holders, and atop our cake, to saguaros in all of our stationery from Laura Stein, day-of signage, groomsmen’s socks and bridesmaid’s earrings, to the prickly pear signature cocktails, we infused desert whimsy everywhere we could!
Our wedding planners Sip and Twirl were so much fun to work with and wanted to make sure the day had as many personal touches as possible. Since we share a love of food, Andy and I wanted it to be a highlight of the wedding. Our favorite meal is breakfast, so we designed a breakfast for dinner menu that included fried chicken and waffles, yogurt parfaits, quiches, french toast bread pudding, and breakfast sandwiches.
When I saw the Wedding Chicks DIY ribbon chairs I was swooning! I knew I had to have them, so I bought ribbon by the yard at a local discount fabric store and my sister and I spent an afternoon decorating the bride and groom reception chairs with ribbons that complemented the sunset color scheme. It’s definitely one of those projects that makes a big impact with minimal cost, and WOW was it gorgeous!!!
For our grand exit, in keeping with our “breakfast for dinner” theme, my parents hand-strung and then spray painted and glitter-coated THOUSANDS of cheerios which were used in our grand exit. There was a lot of experimentation with which cereals were the most aerodynamic as well as which were the most photogenic (this led to several fun days spent tossing cereal in our driveway), but in the end it was worth it!
