It’s no mystery that this couple’s Spy Museum wedding was a must-see
Katie and Kyle's wedding at the iconic Spy Museum in Washington, DC was completely personalized - the pair drew inspiration from the jewel tones in their home decor, as well as from the geometric, art deco vibes of the FC Tulsa logo. FC Tulsa, in particular, is near and dear to the couple, as it is a professional soccer club in Oklahoma that Kyle owns and founded. Captured by Sarah Murray Photo and planned with the help of Cherry Blossom Events, this colorful and contemporary wedding is an absolute must-see!
Invitations with a secret
Katie and Kyle really embraced the Spy Museum venue, beginning with their invitations. Each invitation had a secret envelope with a task for people to solve. Guests completed a mission on the wedding website to get a secret code that was displayed day-of on the escort wall. Guests who got the code right on their RSVP won a door prize of custom matchbooks!

Timeless lace details
Katie donned a fitted gown with timeless lace details, complemented by a matching lace-trimmed veil. Her bouquet by The Rosy Posy was filled with off-white roses, pops of red, and plenty of pretty blues. Her jewelry was kept simple so that the glam by Carla Pressley Hair and Makeup took center stage.
Bridesmaid style: Teal velvet
The bridesmaids wore velvet teal gowns - perfect for a late fall or early spring wedding - in a variety of styles.
Colorful cathedral ceremony design
The couple opted to highlight jewel tones for the ceremony florals that featured two altar arrangements and mini bouquets at the end of each aisle. These colorful choices stood out against the wooden and golden tones of the cathedral.
Making the most of a city setting
Photographer Sarah Murray Photo ensured there were plenty of city portraits post-ceremony, highlighting elements of Washington D.C. that included some of the city's most recognizable landmarks.
Three complementary table settings
Katie and Kyle's wedding day included lots of teal - Katie's favorite color! Throughout the reception, they included three different table decor vignettes, plenty of peacock feathers, and more! Velvet chairs provided an elevated and luxurious feel to complement the lush, winding centerpieces.
Gatsby-inspired fonts
Custom cocktails got a Gatsby-esque nod through font with the couple offering a bride selection, a groom selection, and a recommend mocktail!
Stained-glass inspired wedding cake
A stained-glass wedding cake from Fluffy Thoughts Cake took center stage and really played to the art deco inspiration throughout the event, from the color choices to the gold accents and fonts.
