This sparkling sapphire blue wedding at Illahe Hills Country Club laughs at the thought of rain on their big day! Well okay, maybe that laughter came after a hearty dose of panic and stress but the important thing is that Alix and Cam were able to have a fantastic time and forget about the weather while they were saying "I do." And how could they not, this beautiful event that Bridal Bliss put on was absolutely heavenly!
From the glittering sweetheart table and all the fresh floral decor to the completely unplanned but stunning sunset photo session we could not possibly heart this wedding any harder. You will want to see more and we totally get it. Check out all of the photos from Deyla Huss Photography by visiting the full gallery here.
From the Bride:Enjoy planning and the process- it is YOUR big day, so do what reflects you as a couple and how you want to celebrate your big day. Things will go wrong, life will happen while planning, and you may have disagreements but honest communication will make the whole experience more enjoyable throughout and to look back on. Make decisions together, don't be afraid to say "no" when needed. Also, don't be afraid to roll up your sleeves and get to work. I really wanted some gorgeous wooden signage but didn't want to spend $500+ on it. I bought plywood, stain, and chalk markers and made all my signs for less than $30- and we received lots of compliments on them.
Thunder and rain forecasted all week leading up to our wedding and on our wedding day! We knew our venue had a back up indoor area, which was reassuring, but not at ALL the vision we had for our outdoor ceremony. We just relaxed, the weather wasn't going to put a damper on our day (nor was stressing about a uncontrollable factor going to make our wedding week fun haha)! We went in expecting the worst, but it all worked out perfectly! Scary dark clouds and sprinkles in the morning, but the sky cleared and the day went off without a hitch! We had the most beautiful sun break during our ceremony and also ended up having a gorgeous sunset. We got to sneak away during the reception and snap some beautiful photos- some of my favorites from the day!
The grass was soaked from raining all week long so I had to nix my wedding heels I purchased (aside from some lovely photos getting ready, I didn't wear them for the ceremony). I searched high and low early morning for my silver sandals that would be perfect, but only found my right sandal. Luckily my sister-in-law let me borrow her sandals (something borrowed!!) so I was comfortable and not sinking into the grass when walking down the aisle, or worse tripping while walking down the aisle!
From Bridal Bliss: Illahe Hills Country Club set the tone for Alix & Cam's picture perfect day! From being the town where they both grew up to the stunning views overlooking the course, we couldn't have asked for more. From the beginning of the planning process, Alix knew what she wanted and we gave her just that. From a romantic ceremony under a softly draped arbor adorned with garland, to an epic two-tiered floral chandelier in the reception tent, no detail was missed. Tables were set with white linens, silver glass beaded chargers and each place setting had a sprig of rosemary wrapped in gray ribbon onto the napkin. The night was one to remember!
Wondering what a wedding like Alix and Cam's might cost? Well we don't have a dollar amount but the bride helpfully gave us the inside scoop on what percentage of their budget went where:
