Unplugged Ceremony

From the bride: The number one piece of advice I would give is to have an UNPLUGGED wedding! I made a sign saying it was an unplugged ceremony and that we would appreciate it if everyone kept their cell phones and cameras off during the ceremony. We also had our officiant announce it before the ceremony began. Our pictures from our photographer came out flawless because no one had their phones out in the aisle blocking them! It made paying good money for professional pictures worth it.

Break away from tradition

I would also tell brides to really stick with what they want to do for their day and break away from the standards and traditions of weddings. I felt very restricted when I began planning because of all the traditional "to dos". Someone told me, "you don't have to do those things if you don't want to" and so I went with a small wedding with no seating chart for the reception. I had a giant U shaped table and everyone sat where they wanted.

Make it your day

I also skipped the bouquet and garter toss so we could have more time to mingle and dance. It was a very relaxed backyard feel and everyone complimented how non-formal it was. So definitely make sure you don't feel like you have to do all of the formal and more traditional things.

Read on to see how much this simple rustic winery wedding cost. Please note that costs change as the years go by, and prices are subject to change. This is just one couple’s breakdown to give you a rough estimate on how much a wedding like this may cost you. From the bride: As far as budget goes: I had a very small budget $17,000. My venue (Wiens Family Cellars) had so many perks because their wedding package includes everything: food, tables, chairs, linens, ceremony and reception site, set up and breakdown, bartenders etc.! They included a basic appetizer station and they had a giant storage unit with all kinds of small decor (vases, signs etc.) that I got to use at no extra cost which saved me tons. Venue: $10,000
Photographer: $2,920 (included engagement shoot)
DJ: $1,645
Videographer:$900
Caricature artists (instead of photobooth): $300
Wedding Dress: $1800

I highly recommend brides shopping around to find a venue that includes a lot in their wedding package. I also highly reccomend our venue since the service, food and site were flawless!
