We wanted to have a laid-back wedding that our guest would enjoy. I was on a low budget, so we had to pull some strings and do a lot of DIY to meet our budget. I had a lot of fun planning a wedding that seemed more elaborate than what it actually cost!
From Jessi Nichols Photography: Lindsey Plantation's lovely barn and property was the perfect backdrop for their charmingly rustic wedding. Their ceremony took place in a field on the property, and it could not have been more beautiful.
The bride and the groom participated in a rope tying to signify their unity during their ceremony. Once vows were said, the two joyfully exited, began their reception under the twinkle lights in the barn.
We did a lot of DIY projects. My favorite was the flower boxes. Blake and I got the wood from an old barn behind a house his dad had bought. My dad and I then spent an entire day building the boxes. I also sewed all of the groom and the groomsmen's ties myself. And each table number frame, chalkboard sign, floral arrangement, were handmade by me or someone in my family.
I would have had a Rehearsal Brunch instead of a Rehearsal Dinner. I would have loved to have the evening before to make the flower arrangements. It was stressful doing them the morning of since we also had to set up the venue. I felt as if it made everybody rush to get ready.
