Santa Barbara Historical Museum Wedding By Patrick Moyer

Bride in elegant satin wedding gown posing outdoors

We can say firsthand that Santa Barbara Historical Museum is one of the most romantic, rustic beautiful wedding venues we have ever seen. It truly does evoke the romance of early Spanish California.  No matter the decor or wedding theme, this cultural landmark is the perfect backdrop for your Santa Barbara wedding. You can learn more about this Hand-Picked wedding venue by visiting here.
Our next couple, Rachel and John knew immediately that this was the spot for them to plan their stylish yet laid back french inspired celebration. Complete with a, "cheese cake," appetizer, Merci wedding favors and a Wall-E & Eva Wedding Cake Topper. You can read more from the bride, and you simply must see all the photos from Patrick Moyer by clicking here.

From The Bride:The second we stepped into the courtyards at the Santa Barbara Historical Museum we knew we wanted to get married there. The peaceful setting and the privacy you get despite being outdoors was exactly what we were looking for. Our inspiration for the big day was John's proposal in Paris, and our consequent love of the movie "Midnight in Paris" We never really committed to specific colors but tried to incorporate the theme with the look of the museum. We ended up with midnight blue, burgundy, khaki and creamy pink.

Three-tiered cheese wedding cake with figs and crackers Cheese Cake AppetizerThere were lots of herbs, wood and vintage accents. We had an awesome French gypsy jazz band called The Bohemians play, and it literally was like the movie soundtrack. John and I love good wine and great food so we made sure we had plenty of both, with the pinnacle for me being our "cheese cake" appetizer; little wheels of cheese stacked into a wedding cake shape.

Such a clever idea!
Use an old vintage mirror for your bar or wedding menu. A smaller mirror would even look fantastic at your dessert table. If you are thinking of doing this yourself, try using Crayola Washable Window Markers. When you first use them, they are translucent, but as they dry they become opaque. They wipe off ... so you can use your mirror again

Wall-E & Eva Wedding Cake TopperI really wanted to make sure our interests were represented in the wedding. I purchased little silver pins from John's favorite soccer team Arsenal and had them included in the boutonnieres. We also had a sweet Wall-E & Eva wedding topper made. The entire wedding was a dream. I got to marry the man I love surrounded by all the people we care about most and all the things that make us the happiest. Our guests enjoyed themselves immensely (or so we are told) and all the thought and work that went into the multitude of details was well worth it.The wedding was ultra fabulous ... right? From the venue to Rachel's dress to the gorgeous photos from Patrick Moyer. This ultra talented Santa Barbara wedding photographer is also part of our Hand-Picked collection.
