Everything about Kristy and Michael's wedding was so romantic. Her soft lace dress, perfectly styled hair and her light pink wedding bouquet were just the beginning. They really wanted their day to speak to the love they shared but also capture their love for stories, and not just any stories, but love stories.
As you see the entire day was put together flawlessly by Kelly of Divine Design a good friend of the bride and groom. Sadly, Kelly passed way tragically about a month ago and we wanted to dedicate this feature to her. You must see the entire wedding that was magnificently captured by Jen Wojcik Photography in the full gallery here.
From The Bride:Almost every aspect of our wedding day revolved around our love of stories. Therefore we have dubbed our theme as “Storybook Romance.” We used soft colors of pinks and peaches with touches of gold for a subtle vintage look, and many lit candles for a warm glow. My now husband and I had so much fun searching antique stores, thrift shops and garage sales during our engagement for the perfect vintage pieces. Our escort table was set to resemble the mad tea party using these. We also rented some other pieces, as well as vintage books and the set of French doors to complete our decor.
The most important thing for us was that everyone was comfortable. We allowed the bridesmaids to choose their own dresses, so they would all feel great about how they looked. The groomsmen had different ties, and all wore converse so they were all comfy. I loved the final effect, to which I refer to as eclectic romance.
A hobby of ours is brewing our own beer, so one of our favors were bottles of homebrew. Michael designed all of our stationery- our invites, signs, the beer labels etc. It put such a nice touch to everything to have designed it on our own. And for the underaged we had little boxed French macarons with little ‘Eat Me’ tags- yet another Alice in Wonderland reference. We really had a good time trying to implement story references into our music and decor. We snuck some of our geekiness in where we could, such as our Lego cake topper.
We ended the night with a sparkling pathway, surrounded by all our favorite people, that ended at Michael’s ‘59 Chevy Bel Air. This car is his pride and joy and I could not think of a more perfect getaway car. That night was an amazingly perfect way to begin our happily ever after!
