Before we dive into Natalie and
From The Bride:
When we got engaged, the one thing my fiance and I knew was that we wanted to get married on the outdoor grounds of a private estate. We knew we wanted to be in San Diego, where I am from, in the summer, and with so many of the guests traveling from the east coast, we wanted them to experience the beautiful west coast August weather as much as possible! being at a private home meant we literally had to bring every single item in (thank goodness for the advice and relentless help of our amazing friend Jenna who assisted with the planning and day of coordination, and my mother, who definitely missed her calling in life), but that made it feel all the more personal in my opinion.
After checking out many homes for rent, a dear family friend offered us their gorgeous home, in Rancho Santa Fe, one of the most naturally beautiful areas San Diego. From that point on, our vision was really to compliment what was already there; huge trees, rolling green fields, orange groves and horse pastures; and not take it over. We wanted it to be very "garden party-esque" with beautiful pastel flowers, subtle but elegant lighting, and food stations through out the backyard to make sure people moved around and mingled, while still having a table to go back to.
It was an amazing night, made that much better by all of the help family and friends put in to making it so special. My dad handmade every jam jar with berries from my his beloved garden, which served as escort cards, as well as favors. One of our groomsmen, along with another dear friend and guest, learned our first dance song (Danny's Song by Anne Murray) over Skype from different states, and performed it at the wedding effortlessly. my colleagues at Life: Styled (an event concierge company) helped make sure that each guest's hotel reservation, travel details and activities around the city were flawless. the food and service were spectacular, the music was great, and the setting was perfect. (enough adjectives yet?!) We loved every minute of it, still are not over the fact that we don't get to do it again, and feel so grateful and humbled by all of the people who made so much effort to celebrate with us.
