A stunning fall color palette, gorgeous florals, sentimental touches, but the best part about this wedding? The favors! This lit-loving couple decided to give their guests the best gift they could think of, a book! It's such a practical favor–it looks great on a display, they'll actually use it, and it adds one more part to the shared experience that is your wedding. Genius!
The team at Hoopes Events listened closely to the couple's ideas and made sure to incorporate literature in every way they could while still keeping the fall scheme cohesive. The warm wood interior of Sundance Mountain Resort was the perfect backdrop for this festive wedding. We love that Fleur and Stems kept the floral arrangements light by incorporating toffee-colored roses and other warm pastels that picked up on the fall vibes. Grey Giraffe took these stunning photos and we love how this lovely color palette is captured in each and every one! Keep reading to hear more from Tonya from Hoopes Events about how this beautiful day came together.
Aren was Callan’s assistant stage manager during their university’s production of a play, where they first met while working on the set for the upcoming show. They stayed in each other’s circles for a while, eventually sharing a semester with nearly all their classes together. Aren and Callan realized they were meant for each other during a field trip to NYC. Aren knew that Callan would suspect a proposal, throwing her off the trail by planning with Callan’s sister behind the scenes. So, when Callan set off for a “sister day,” she was undeniably shocked to see Aren, who proposed at the mural of classic literature in Salt Lake City.
Being sure to incorporate a cohesive theme, the couple focused their decor and flowers on sunset tones. Warm reds were found peeking from bouquets, while orange and gold tones were detailed along the tables.
Perfect for this rustic wedding, the bride wore a stunning strapless lace dress with a champagne lining on the bodice and the groom rocked a sharp 3-piece olive suit. The bridesmaids and groomsmen in shades of sage, terracotta, olive, and amber added to the color palette.
An outdoor ceremony was held on the forested property with an arch decorated in greenery, pampas grass, a scattering of roses, and beautifully draped orange fabric.
Aren and Callan’s fall wedding focused on their mutual love of literature, which took guests on a delightful journey of poetry and prose. After the ceremony, guests made their way to a DIY wall of books. This wall served as gifts to their guests, set on a bookshelf with an oversized quote printed along the shelves. Together, the couple selected ten of their favorite books and included a note about why each book was selected. Tables were even named after famous writers. Instead of one cake, Aren and Callan ordered eleven cakes and asked for a guest at each table to cut their cake along with them!
